Next, the stock bulbs flat out suck. i have never had a car with such poor lighting. I decided to pick up some brighter IPF low beam bulbs.
I installed one of the bulbs, took many steps back and eye balled to see if there is much of a difference between the old and new. It was easy to see that the new bulbs are a good bit brighter. Now, I need to look at night to see if they are worth the upgrade.

Slee sliders are the ticket when you are trying to provide the fam with something they can step up on.

Re: the IPFs, can you post some night shots? I want to see how they compare to the HIR lows that everyone is all giddy about.

Well my OEM Panasonic battery crapped out on me today. I went to Sears and had a Die Hard Platinum installed. I tried to vet the 880cca group 34 but the post were in the wrong side and the battery cads are not long enough. I know some have done mods to make the larger batteries work nut neither Sears would do that and j don't know what to do. Well, I don't trust myself enough to do it.
The one good thing about going with the smaller battery is now I have a lot of room to relocate my winch solenoid next to the battery.

Went to Lex-Tech today to have assistance installing the winch. It was more work than I had anticipated. We took the bumper off along with the winch mount and all. Ended up having to go to the hardware store for longer bolts.
Next, we switched the wires on the solenoid box and that's where I ran not some small issues. The wires boots at the solenoid box were to big for the holes in the box. So I took my Chris Reeve Sebenza out and wallowed the hole out some. Well, that wasn't enough so I took my knife out again and started trimming the boot down. After about 30 or so minutes of this I got it to fit. I still need 2 longer cables though but it was a start. Reason for all of this is to relocate the solenoid box in the engine bay.
More to come on this.

I need to take a night pic. I haven't driven the truck at night yet.

Screw your build, I want that Sebenza. Show it off all you want. :D

What other knife would a land cruiser owner own? jk theres plenty of quality knives out there; however I do indeed like the Reeve folders.

Just saw the pic of the front end. Looks great!

I have a good many Chris Reeve knives. What can I say, I'm a fanboy.

Make sure to keep the pivot point in your winch safety hook lubricated. Those can rust closed with moisture and especially coastal salt thrown in.

Yea someone told me those can seize up pretty quick.
Thanks.

You should always have several if not more bow/D shackles with you anyway. So if that happens...er I mean when it happens (yeah I've been there done that...how else would I know )...just insert the bow/D shackle pin through the hook and use it. Unless of course whatever you're trying to connect to is too large for a bow/D shackle :D

I like the safety hooks as they have a very legit reason behind their design. Under tension they should not come open. They aren't a maintenance hog - just shoot a little lub up in the pivot regularly - like should be done with a Hi-Lift.

Thy ride is to be known as-

1. Air Bag
2. Crash Test
3. Big Joe
4. Indecision
5. Moonshine
6. Southern Belle

Some are in jest some are serious....LOL

May I add WE1(White Elephant #1) actually just teasing it's looking like a real nice ride. I don't know if I would even put sliders on this ride as it appears to be in mint condition. Even with the underarmor dings are common and on that ride would be a shame. Hope all is well in pig pulling world. Doc:D
