Hey gang, had the battery light coming on, eventually the car died while I was driving. Was less than a half mile from my place and all down hill, so made it home. Set out to fix the alternator. I saw that the wire that connected from the battery to the alternator was very corroded on the alternator side to the point the alternator's bolt that the wire connected to was totally corroded. I had previously replaced the connector wire that goes to the back of the alternator, so I disassembled the alternator and replaced the rectifier with part 2735720060.

I also swapped out the alternator brushes with the official oem part because I had one on hand even though the brushes weren't very worn.

I replaced the wire between the alternator and the battery with a 1/0 tinned copper wire.

With the car on I got a reading of 15.2V from wire that comes from the alternator where it connects to the battery.

Fast forward, battery light is continuing to come on. My gauges are all over the place (possibly related?) so I got a scangauge to confirm readings that I got with a multimeter parked.

So with the multimeter, car parked:
no accessories on 14.2v
Everything on 13.9v
car off 13.2v
crank with no fuel 11.7v
next day before starting 12.6v

today with the scangauge:
driving around 14.2 - 14.3v
parked no accessories on - 14.2
accessories on (front + rear ac, headlights, headed seats, radio) 13.9v then drops and drops and drops, I think it got as low as 12.6v while I was idling for a few minutes after my test drive, battery light back on.

Can you guys help?
 
Not disclosing year, I'll assume 98-02. 15.2 volts is just a "little" to high. May have faulty voltage regulator. When they overcharge by too much, they burn-up batteries fast.
Standard voltage 13.2-14.8V
You need to check amperage also!
