Phill, any idea how would you hook up a switch to use the camera anytime?

The easiest grab the switch leg for the reverse lights at the trans and switch it. The down side (small) is when ever you use the switch for the camera the reverse lights would come.

Got this - Front View Camera,Chuanganzhuo Universal Normal Image Car Reverse Backup Rear/Front View Camera For All Car,Black

$15 on amazon. Works well. Using small monitor (which I replaced now with stereo monitor).

Installed backup cam and monitor.

Ya that set up looks pretty cool. Nice find. Does the clipped on mirror stick out alot? Doesn't look like it from the front pic.

LCD mirror fit quite well on OEM. It's quite thin and just the right size so it doesn't obstruct sun visors movement. Another positive fact regarding these types of mirrors is that they perform like auto dim mirrors, so there is no need for flipping in the dark.

I would recommend mirror with bigger LCD. I've tested booth and (wide version with small LCD and taller version with much bigger LCD) and it makes quite big difference on visibility.
I have installed mirror like this:
7" LCD Mirror Monitor +Wireless Car Rear View Reverse Night Vision Backup#Camera | eBay
You can connect it to two cameras so I've installed front and rear cam.

Love this idea, however, it appears that when the camera is not on, it is a blue screen, and not a mirror. Is that correct?

Mirror looks normal when LCD is turned off. It is a bit dark, like autodimm mirrors, but not blue. You can't even see the edges of LCD when it's off.

Both of these two mirrors are same as mine. Mine also came with that IR cam which is useless (too big) for mounting on Land cruiser.

My work uses those mirrors and camera's a lot. They either work great or crap out in a few weeks and we replace them and then they work great. Very few problems. I haven't had any luck with the wireless camera's and mirrors. The picture was horrible and full of static and as soon as I moved the vehicle the signal would completely disappear.

I've been looking at those on eBay for a couple of days. Does the Bluetooth stereo receiver create problems for the wireless camera signal?

Just spent a whole $33. on that wireless back up camera with the clip on mirror on Ebay. Never thought I would see them so inexpensive.
Thanks for the heads up Navigator.

I liked the camera with the license plate bracket attachment.
