So we gonna run something like Lower Woodpecker again or??

It was decided to play with the 1:87 stuff another day. 1:1 Toyotas on Saturday!

Any plans for leaving a certain time on Saturday? Probably won't be camping this time.

We are looking at a loop past Ajax for a CSC run on Saturday, but can run anything, TTORA will have runs each day.

I will be onsite sometime after 9 or 10 this morning. When out their I will be either on channel 4 or 14. Catch me if you can.

Kevin,

I'll give ya a call in a couple hours.

What times are runs leaving on Friday and Sat??

We were told to be at the campground (somewhere off Cottonwood Canyon Road to the left...) before 0900 hrs...

Our goal of prerunning the trail for Saturday didn't workout well, BMAN had issues with his truck and I have fitting issues with the tires. We will run something tomorrow and Saturday, just don't have trails picked out, will be flexable and run what works best for the rigs and drivers that show up, there are tons of good trails in this area. Be in camp about 9AM or post up if your going to be later.

A couple of pix of the only wheelin that happened today.

BMAN stopped and this guy was right next to his door, for some reason he was reluctant to get out of the truck!:princess:

The desert is looking good, green and loads of flowers.

I did the "Phil trim" on the rear flares and the only rub on the rear is the stock plastic bumper, soon to be solved when that POS is jettisoned. The 1 1/4" wheel spacers are probably too much, there is plenty of room behind the tires, 1" spacers would get the tires away from the flairs. I made a quick set of 3" bump stop drops just to get it on the trail and see how it works, with the new bumper and some tuning I think they can be shortened.

The front is rubbing hard on the ARB and front of the fender well, this is because my arms are too long. When I designed them I shot for wheel centered at lift height, missed by slightly long. Probably going to make another set and shoot for wheel centered at stuff, who cares where they are on droop, it doesn't matter?:hillbilly:

Wow those tires look nice Kevin....

I'm gonna try and make tomorrow - but as usual will be later than 09:00 - channel 4? Which trails? I oughta be out by 10:00 if I can get out...

Howdy! I am definitley coming out Saturday am. My copilot is faultering, so I may have an empty right seat unless someone is brave enough to ride in it!! John

I know that not all of you are camping. Lets see some more pics for us home bound web wheelers.

One quick question, has Brandon fallen out of his 40 yet?

Howdy! I think we voted on this last month at Sonic. He is scheduled to fall out in the middle of the CSC run on Saturday. I will have to keep my camera ready. I stayed right behind him on Lower Ajax about a year ago, but he refused to fall out. If I am close enough, I will be able to see him on my new "Steering Camera"! John

We had a good run yesterday: Coke Ovens, and since we couldn't cross the river, out via Battleaxe trail. Four of us tagged along with the Tacomas.

The highlight of the run was a 700lbs camper coming off a stock-ish T100 on a hillclimb on Battleaxe. I don't have pictures since I was in my usual spot as tailgunner, but I was like "I can't believe I just heard THAT on the radio"

The camper hadn't come off all the way, tail end was on the ground, front part hanging on to the truck bed by a fingernail, so we were able to push it back on the truck, and then it was ratchet straps to the rescue.

The run had somewhat of a flavor reminiscent of the Golden Spike run at Blazer Bash last fall - sort of a marathon with multiple breakage: front spring pack coming apart on a SAS 4runner, with a u-bolt on the driver's side about to say goodbye (the nut on said aftermarket u-bolt had already gone AWOL...), and a rear driveshaft falling off the same truck since the nut that holds the flange to the output shaft of the t'case had come loose. Luckily, it couldn't get away since it was trapped between the flange and the CV. In summary, all breakage due to engineering not commensurate with Toyota Motor Company, I guess ;).

Other than that, major scenery back in those mountains, and a great time!

We won't be able to come out today , so you guys have fun.

And BMAN, sorry about the 'running trucks' comment last nite but you have to admit you opened the door for this one...;p . Hope everything works well for you today :grinpimp:

On the way now... see ya out there

BMAN... no radiator, sorry. :o
