A fellow Mudder(80Jay) and I will be taking a trip up to North Georgia, Tennessee, and North Carolina area to go wheeling and camping. We will be coming up from Florida and plan on just wondering around the area for a good week. We plan to be in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park area, as I have a TOPO map of this area and will be exploring quite extensively. This trip for both of us is just mainly a trip with no destinations, schedules or iteneraries (SP)

We plan to be hitting the road with another fellow mudder(chuckD) to North Georgia on April 27 and staying up in the area until May 6th.

I am posting this to see if there any fellow mudders who would be willing to show us trails and wheel with us, since florida doesnt have much to offer as far as terrain variance. Or anybody with some advice on any awesome wheeling and camping spots up in the area that we should check out.

Thanks

Frank

We have a private place up in Lincolnton but I am not sure that we will be there until a couple of weeks ahead we just held a big event and we are taking off. If I can figure out that we will be there you are more than welcome to come but it is usuaully just on Sunday when we ride we are always busy on Sat. working on new trails.

Sweet let me know if you will be wheeling during that time. Thanks for the invite.

Also was wondering of must see sites that we should consider going to while we are up there.

Well it really depends on what you are into as to what sites that you want to see. If you are going up around Boone NC then I would have to say Grandfather MTN. or just get up on the park way and ride to the pull offs and enjoy

For wheeling in this area I would say you must hit Beasley Knob, Tellico, possibly River Rock, The Gulches, Morris Mtn, and Grey Rock if you head into AL. If just TN/GA and the Carolinas you may want to hit Winrock in TN...

Definitely include me on the email or PM list. I would be willing to meet you all a time or two in the cado for some wheeling.

Oh yeah..you gotta see Rock City and get your birdhouse!

Great links, thanks alot guys for the info and the spots that we should hit up. I am currently in South America (colombia) and cant wait to get back to the states so I can go wheeling.

DANKUNZ- we will keep in touch so we can meet up and do some wheeling.

Go here and take a look at some of the pics and see if you are up for it. It is some pretty rough stuff with just about positive body damage. This is the place I am trying to see if we are going to be at when you come up or not. If not check out tellico and caliente while you are up as well.

You are definetely right about body damage, seems likea fun spot to check out.. I dont think my rig has the clearance to do any rock climbing or such as she doesnt have any lift, but it would be cool to check ot and see other people wheel....

Where is tellico and caliente located exactly??

Tellico is located on the TN NC border in Murphy NC http://www.tellico4x4.com/tellico_info_main.php
Calliente is located above Mountain City BC on Hwy 321 I will try and get you directions but is pretty simple I went there on 34's Stock height.

sweet thanks for the info.... Tellico seems like an awesome place.. cant wait to go wheeling....

Will be waiting on the directions of caliente...

Update: Made it to Perry,Ga on are way to Decatur,Ga then headed out in the morning to Tellico... Only problems with two fj80's one with 197000, and another with 275,000 was front output shaft seal on the transfer case blew out so have to stop every so often to refill... but all is good if anybody want to meet up in Nc give us a shout!!
