Looks like this setup is not going to work with LHD rigs

What makes you think that? Seems easier for LHD to me
That's great news as this is the most intriguing motor swap for my clean dead 94

In post #178 the pluming for the inner cooler looks like it would interfere with the steering and breaks.

I'm gonna take the opportunity here to say I've got a pretty decent 1FZ for sale if you decide to go that route.

@Drewthecarguy nice work on getting it all fitted up, looks like quite a bit to cram in there. Once you get er sorted, I'd guess some other folks of the world might be interested in a conversion kit for this.

On a LHD that's where the battery is located and there’s only one.
So the battery would have to be to be relocated to the other side.
Not that big of a deal

Hey thanks for asking, I have been fiddling with it trying to get it more and more better

I relocated the intercooler off to the side to help with intake air temps and to gain hood clearance

Added a EGT gauge that I had on the 1HDT
Changed up my air intake. Went from a 4 inch that went to the passenger side to a 3 inch towards the driver side. I was having a problem with intake air temps going up which would cause boost levels to go down

I’ve been putting tons of miles on it and I’m averaging around 28 MPG around town

I haven’t had any long road trips yet to see what MPG I get on strictly interstate.

Haven’t messed with tuning much

Problems I have so far is with electric power steering pump not being enough to turn 37s. It works great if I don’t have any rapid movements on the wheel

I have a really nice 3d printer on the way and I’m going to start designing a power steering pump bracket

I also plan on getting rid of one of my batteries and going to a AGM. I think the alternator is having problems with lead acid batteries because of the smart charging system GM has but I’m not 100% sure

I also mounted a shifter from a 6th gen Camaro I got from swaptime. It has tap shift buttons on the side. lol bad thing is they are on the wrong side but I guess I’ll have to start working out my pinky hahahaha

But the shifter feels insanely good compared to the stock shifter with the B&M cable I was using

Also in that picture you can see my custom speedhut boost and EGT gauges I had from the 1HDT

I've looked at electric power steering pumps just out of curiosity a few times and I don't think many of them have enough volume for offroad rigs, let along things like hydro assist that some of us are interested in. Going with the stock power steering pump would probably be preferable to most of us I would think.

Between getting that pump out of there and the way you re-routed the intake, I think it would allow those of us with North America rigs to even use the stock airbox, which is a bonus. I'll bet it would also help with those air temp issues (Though I wonder if some of those longer runs of intake tube aren't actually part of the problem for the temps). Swap the intercooler over behind the airbox (or maybe keep it on top), and the vacuum pump over by our ABS pump and brake booster... I don't see why it wouldn't work, even with dual batteries.

28mpg would be unreal for road trips and extended trail runs. I'm loving watching this develop.

Not sure how much room you have and have no idea if what im gonna say will even work but here we go I've worked on monster trucks and race mud trucks / pro mega trucks what is used to power the steering is a hydraulic pump driven by the crankshaft can take a picture of what im talking about just thinking outloud here lol

Don’t most cars with power steering have a pump ran off the crankshaft or are you meaning something different? After I remove the battery on the right side of the engine bay I’ll have plenty of room to mount a PSC pump or even a GM pump

Its not belt driven don't mind me if you have enough room for a regular gm / psc pump work that's a way better option

There are other aftermarket shifters out there with the tap shift buttons on top if you decide it bothers you too much.

Dang I wonder if I can just change the shift knob

For those of you that lack reading and comprehension skills.
I never said this swap wouldn’t work for LHD vehicle what I said was the setup doesn’t look like it’ll work meaning the inner cooler and piping. 😎
