Attaching Rear Springs Isolaters to Frame in GX Airbag Delete (1 Viewer)

To remove the airbags, discounted them from the airline first. Then there is a small clip on a nipple on the top of the airbag. It works a lot like a clip on a brake line at a frame mount. Just a flat looking thing with a tab on the end. Come in under the GX with a long skinny flat blade screwdriver, push on the tab and it will come off.

We purposely offer the two versions of the kit the lower priced one for those wanting to track the isolators down and for those who just want it all to show up in a box. If you're looking for the LOWEST cost way to go, just get them from a wrecking yard from 03+ 4Runner or any FJ Cruiser and you're golden. We don't make isolators, we make the kit and keep the kit priced low.

As for the isolator, it always drops onto the top of the spring and the spring holds it in place.

The lines can be kind of a bear to get off the top of the bags. I just cut mine, since I'm not going back to air suspension ever.

Just wear eye protection as if loaded with air the line will whip around a bit. My production manager took a hit accross the face, eye protection on, but had a red line accross his cheek.

Once you have pulled the factory line a few times its not so bad but since its most people's first time and the bags are not going back on, cut'em for sure.

Hey Metal Tech, the bolts that you included in my kit weren't threaded all the way to the bottom which does not allow the nut to tighten at all. Also one of your people put the stickers on upside down on the lower links. Not exactly very good promotion of the brand.

I had my stickers on upside down on my arms as well.

Interesting. It seemed more logical to use a shorter bolt and mount it the way I did. What would be the advantage of doing it the other way?

Won't hold water, dirt, etc. Also it seems like having it open at the top could lead the puck to get dented or damaged. A small chance, but still.

And as above, less likely to move with the open end down.
