I bought the basic Kit from Metal Tech. Got the Isolators from Amazon for a lot less. It would seem that the isolator gets bolted to the frame in some fashion. But I don't see any hardware in the full kit from Metal Tech. Is the upper mount convex on the frame and the Isolater (which has a concave base) sits on that? Or do I run a bolt through it to attach it to the frame? I have not received the kit from Metal tech but I am starting to the removal process today? Whats the best way?

My upper isolators are not bolted to the frame. I just dropped them in the tops of the springs and centered them up.

After consulting my local FJ Cruiser Club, everyone is confirming that the spring's pressure is the only thing that holds the upper isolators in place. So just drop it in the top of the spring and center it in the cup under the frame.

Good luck with your choice. To my knowledge you really want the DIY Kit minimum to get rid of the airbags in the back. After that the world is your oyster of choices that fit the 4 runner/fj. So research and decide. Lots of great choices from Mild To High End. I went Mild and I am very happy so far.

Hello,
Im looking to do this conversion soon. I have not been able to find an aftermarket rear spring isolator. Do you have the link to the one you sourced from Amazon?
Thanks in advance!
