What do you think of your yeti? I have a $300 gift certificate to Cabelas and was thinking of buying one. What size do you have? I was also looking at the Cabelas brand but it really isn't much cheaper.

They are great. I have the 65 quart version. The best proof I can give you is this: We loaded it up with meat for 3 families and ice and put it in an enclosed trailer full of luggage in the middle of the summer. it was a two day trip down to gulf shores and there was plenty of ice and the meat was still frozen when we got there. The temps in the trailer were in the 100's. It holds ice well because of the amount of insulation. With my kids in it every 5 minutes it cuts the efficiency down but for "normal" use they are great. The website has a great amount of tips on how the keep the ice in them longer. Plus you can use dry ice in the yeti....

Here is the Facebook Page for the Overland Series Challenge and pics from some of the more challenging areas of the trail

it shouldn't be an issue to leave in the evening after work. Could be a fun little night trip and set up camp at 10-11 pm closer to the trail head. We'd need the expertise of @SammyT08FJ for a spot to camp. If we can do the whole 155 miles in the 4 days were expecting AND make the 4 hour trip on the morning of the second, camping on the 1st would only be for the heck of it.

Outside of that, there's enough hours in the PTO bank that we should be able to get what we need without twisting any arms as long as we figure out exactly when we're leaving soon

What do you think @kc_chevota, @Robkc, @1MAC, and Sammy?

I'm probably leaving Friday afternoon, unless a miracle happens at work.

I can leave any time, might be nice to head down the evening before.

Use noodles, they look much cooler. Plus American Beauty sells them in like 1000 packs.

Oh I can swim. I just know the 80 can't. That's why I'm working on a set of top secret floaties so I can stay on top of the water. If I can get the rotary girder designed, we'll be good to go.

Anybody else want a pair of floaties?

FYI, I am trying to piggy back before this trip some other fun. I am thinking about hitting Hot Springs and the park there. The same weekend as this, is the razorback ramble event there at the park. Anyone interested?

Are you thinking of heading to the park in Hot Springs like Monday the 30th or Tuesday the 31st, and then meeting up with everyone else on the 2nd, and making a whole week out of it? I might be able to do something like that, taking off the whole week, but would have to double check with the boss.

Hey guys, Taylor from The Overland Adventures here! Just wanted to chime in and say that this is one of our favorite areas to explore and it's truly a treasure and should be treated as such. I'm sure you guys will, but please stay on the trail, pack out everything you pack in, pickup trash you see along the way, and of course Tread Lightly! We work hard to make a positive impact for the 4x4 crowd every time we go over there, so please help up to impress the rangers and continue to create a GOOD name for all 4x4 enthusiasts so these trail systems are open for years and years to come!

We certainly will. This is a very respectful, family oriented group that is conscientious of the surroundings. Would love more company if it fits in your calendar!

Good to hear! I figured that was the case, but it never hurts to reiterate those important details! I'm going to mark it on my calendar, but whether I can actually make it or not may be another story! Thanks so much for the invite, I'll keep you updated on my attendance!

@madney are you saying I shouldn't use my floor mounted trash chute while on the trail ?

Yeah, please keep all of your beer cans inside the vehicle for the entirety of your stay in the Ozarks... LOL!

BTW, for those of you concerned about high water/need of snorkel... I ran the whole trail in a stock height 2nd gen 4runner. As long as it hasn't been raining a ton in the week or two leading up to the trip then the crossings shouldn't be of concern to any of you all. Most of them are normally under 30" deep, just keep an eye on the weather and avoid ALL of the ominous looking mud/water holes because some of them have been known to swallow rigs, as you all saw in our video... lol

That is basically what I am thinking about; however, I would like to add some hiking, zip line, caving too.

I am going to reach out to Razorback to see if that will be any issue.

I like it. Rach already knows I need some serious "me" time before baby number 2 arrives, so I could probably make this happen.
