I purchased the 77 off Mud while at the 2019 PP in Shawnee NF. Left early to complete the transaction, and it was delivered a week later non-running per the PO. Not running I was thinking cracked head, blown engine, who knows.
Fortunately for me, a new carb had been improperly installed, once that was fixed she ran great. But was not driveable due to an improperly mounted front left knuckle. It was like someone started a brake job and just stopped after loosening a few bolts.. Anyway, PO was kind enough to have included all the parts/bearings/seals/calipers/rotors etc for a front axle rebuild... Got the rebuild done, changed the rims to the Toyota white ones, and she's driving 65 MPH no worries.. after fresh fluids, rear brake job, exhaust, etc, etc.

Drove it about 3-4 months and had the roof repainted due to some bubbling from an older repaint. New metal, good as new... Drove it a couple of months, decided to repair some previously repaired areas with a total body repaint..

Drove it out to 2020 PP in Arkansas, turned around and came back. Wife going thru chemo, couldn't get my head into four-wheeling. COVID hits, and I decide I want to get the front floorboards replaced with Bob's panels. Got them and they are being installed now...

So I'm going to start downloading some pics of this little piggie.
Bob, thanks for the panels.. She started life in Ca, then resided in Arizona. If anyone recognizes her and your a previous owner I'd love to now more of the truck's history.

a hundred plus repaint pics.
Final exterior is done...
Floors are being done now. I'll get some pics up over the next couple of days..

Anyway, LOVING MY TRUCK..
Drives great. Came out of Sunrise, Arizona from Jon who I have remained in contact with.
I have the original owners name but am hesitant to put it out there without his permission.
I know he purchased it new in Ca in 77.
Cool truck, Going to get the AC working this year.
I rebuilt a Warn 8274 (thanks to Mud threads/directions) and it's now installed.
It for now.

Hey Mac,

Good hearing from you again. We felt bad you couldn't stay for a night camping with the group, but totally understand. I hope everything is looking good for you. Your wagon was beautiful before the paint job, must be perfect now. The red looks so good, not many that color around. I want to see it at the next SSS.

Hey Scrap
Good to hear from you. Hope all is well with you and yours... My bride is thru chemo, and nearing the end of radiation.. Looking like sunshine and blue skys...
My plan wasnt to paint it again (PO had repainted at some point)...cause they can be made to nice IMHO..but the truck was in such good condition and the few areas of decay needed some attention. Especially the right rear corner of the tailgate where a previous repair looked good, but compromised the tailgates operation.. so one thing led to the next and bam... here we are..

I looked at your truck repeatedly during PP2019.. That is an incredible rig.. Didnt you have a hot water rig hooked up in the engine compartment? Nice...

Anyone have an opinion on the electric PS offered by cityracer for the 55's.. I'm thinking that's my present to me XMas 2021...

Also thinking of doing PP2021.. Long drive from east coast of Fl.. But cruiserjunktion did 2020 East to West coast and back in his hybrid badass truck. soooo it's a maybe
Slow and easy.
Hope you and yours are well. thanks for the comments...

Good morning Rush,
My original brand new 77 in 77 (of course) was red and white.. Deo actually turned me onto this one listed on CL out of Sunrise.. Deo new I had been looking for one. What's karma about it is we were both enroute to and had actually just arrived at PP2019 when he forwarded the listing to me..
I kept the Toyota red but went a whiter white then the cygnus.. PO had done the same and it was easiest to repeat ..
Thanks...
