Are there any mechanical differences between 2015 and 2020 versions of 1GD-FTV engine? (1 Viewer)

So personally I am very disappointed with how underpowered the 2015 1GD-FTV diesel engine is. It has been updated in 2020, but was it changed somehow mechanically or just remapped to output more power? I'm exploring an option of buying a 150 diesel, but 2015-2020 underpowered engines give me pause.

Is it possible to get a chip for a diesel in the UK? I know many of the U.S. made diesel trucks benefit from being chipped, both in HP and MPG.

Yeah, you can get any chip you want, considering that 100% of 150s in UK are diesels. I was just wondering if 2020 revision of the engine had something else in it, like maybe a more powerful turbo or something like that.

The 2021 version in Oz has a few things revised, different turbo (bigger) and higher flow injectors.

Apparently the cylinder head has some revisions to the water jacket, the exhaust manifold is different and there are some revisions to pistons and the engine block. Can't confirm these as haven't been inside one or had side by side with an earlier 1GD. Lastly, the head gasket is a different part number, presumably something has changed here.
