I noticed an idle surge from 500 rpm to 700 rpm while at a stoplight. I searched and saw a GX470 thread with no responses, except mine. Before I hunt for a vacuum leak today, has anyone else encountered this issue?

IDLE AIR CONTROL (IAC) is the most possible culprit, BUT always check for damaged vacuum lines. Cleaning the throttle body can help.also.
Any codes?
Year?
No codes, it stopped when I turned off my HVAC. I’ll be cleaning my throttle body today. It’s a 2013.

I think it’s just my a/c fan kicking on and off with my defroster going. Never noticed it before.

If your ac compressor is cycling then that's the cause. *may be normal or Low freon can cause the compressor to cycle more frequently and the engine must increase rpm's to compensate the load put onto it.
Anytime you select front window defroster the ac compressor is used to dry the air more efficiently down to or above freezing as the freon pressure is to low for the compressor to even come on. AC off is bypassed if def is selected period.

Sometimes little things catch your attention and that internal twitch goes off! I have the same issue........I'm slowly learning to ignore alot But just purchasing a used 2022 I'm in full relapse!
Throttle body wipe down never hurts as the ecu parameters are set to what a clean TB at idle let's through and I believe it can compensate but o ly so much.

Yeah, I get paranoid sometimes hearing changes in my vehicles I didn’t notice before. All good, I be cleaning my TB tomorrow now that today has become a take my wife shopping day. 😄
