So, I have this plastic shield over the KDSS / swaybar - Was it supposed to have been removed during the bumper install?

Seems like it might provide some protection from flying stones, it doesn’t seem like it would be in the way, and if you do hit something with it, the worst it will do is tear or rip it off. I’d just leave it there.

its floppy plastic I don't think it's going to protect from much if I hit it. Since it is ahead of the KDSS / sway bar I don't think it will protect against flying debris (unless I am in a race and about to pass a slower vehicle  ).

I cut mine off also .. but it's not going to hurt leaving it there.

It is just cut off along the edge of the bumper.

Let’s put it this way, Toyota doesn’t just put parts on vehicles for no reason. You may not understand why they did it, but I can assure you there was a good rationale and cost justification.

I agree with you, and I don't underestimate the engineering that went into this product - However, sometimes the engineers and I have different goalsl. By removing the stock front bumper and it's associated cover I have clearly asserted my blasphemous views upon their vehicle :)

I appreciate engineers. I come from a family of engineers...

anyone know where to find a good arb summit bumper install write up for 2016+ 200? Searched the forum with no luck.
I installed mine recently using the included instructions.
Are there specific questions you have?

Not yet. Been waiting months for it to come in for my 2021. Just got the notification today that it has shipped from Cruiser Outfitters. So jumping the gun a little I guess, but was just reading up on it in anticipation. I guess I should wait and read the instruction from ARB. I installed one on an fjcruiser a few years back, but all the other ARBs I've had are on old cruisers which are far more simple to install.

It’s not a bad install. A lot of steps and can be a little tedious at times. But, overall not bad. I will say that having one person to help when sliding it into place is helpful. I had mine on and off four times making sure I got the cuts perfect.

cool, good to know. I just installed my Slee sliders over the weekend. Not difficult, but took a while.

I think the hardest step was removing the rear driver side interior panel to find the connection harness for controlling the lights on the bumper.
