concretejungle said:why would you want to remove your deer protection? Might as well keep the OEM bumper unless you plan on stuffing a winch in there.

If you smack a deer or a 'roo, then you will be glad to have the bars.
Otherwise, for me, the bars are 1) ugly, 2) unnecessary extra weight, and 3) in the way. My offroading is way out into the middle of nowhere for days at a time. I am already carrying too much weight and not enough stuff.
On my list of projects is working with a custom fabricator to get a bumper made of steel similar in look to the stock bumper, as light as possible, while being strong enough for mounting a winch. The TJM bumper above is in the right direction, but I don't care for it's bolt on wings.

Nice rig. What kind of running boards and roof rack are on your LC and where did you get them?
Junk said:If you're working on a major project, just take the bumper off. It's only a few bolts. I take mine on/off and leave the winch in the bumper all the time. It's not that heavy.
Going by what you are saying, why not just buy one of Christo's bars without the center tube? It's very beefy. Here's one when I had it on my BB.
