Does ARB still make the bumper style with no bull bars at all? The yellow Slee 80 has one on it www.sleeoffroad.com.
You didn't look very hard at Slee's website :whoops: It is Slee's bumper, here's a link, then click on "80 series Land Cruiser Slee Off-Road Front Bumper"

Firetruck would be correct sir..........................adjust your glasses please

I have also seen an ARB with the tubes removed from it. IIRC it was Amando's 80. I believe he had it re-powder coated. It looked really good.

why would you want to remove your deer protection? Might as well keep the OEM bumper unless you plan on stuffing a winch in there.

Some people prefer the cleaner look, myself included. It also reduces the weight.

I understand dan, i just lean a little more towards function rather than form. But i try and make the functionable modification be as clean and stylish as possible. Heck these trucks are allready so heavy and all the stuff they haul, i wouldn't think weight is that big of a deal.

Parts geeks, who can figure em.......................................

Noted....;)

How about being able to get into the engine compartment without being barred by the bumper?

If you smack a deer or a 'roo, then you will be glad to have the bars.

Otherwise, for me, the bars are 1) ugly, 2) unnecessary extra weight, and 3) in the way. My offroading is way out into the middle of nowhere for days at a time. I am already carrying too much weight and not enough stuff.

On my list of projects is working with a custom fabricator to get a bumper made of steel similar in look to the stock bumper, as light as possible, while being strong enough for mounting a winch. The TJM bumper above is in the right direction, but I don't care for it's bolt on wings.

If you're working on a major project, just take the bumper off. It's only a few bolts. I take mine on/off and leave the winch in the bumper all the time. It's not that heavy.

Going by what you are saying, why not just buy one of Christo's bars without the center tube? It's very beefy. Here's one when I had it on my BB.

Junk,

Nice rig. What kind of running boards and roof rack are on your LC and where did you get them?

Running boards?..............

(headed for some defilade right now)..................:D

Ok, Ok, sliders. They look like a running board-slider combo. Anyway, I like em.

LOL, not quite squirrel boards, but yes they are sliders. Just some piece of crap .134 and .120 steel booger welded together. They are custom and you can find more details on them if you check some older posts.

Rack was hannibal. No longer on my truck same goes for the awning.

LOL, yeah. Notice it's blue and not brown. :flipoff2: Should have put my truck between 2 70's so the pic would get more attention. :D
