For cowl + tub you are looking at $6.5K...add another $1K for shipping. More for other options like tailgate or fenders. Excellent quality product and customer service. Beats the price on steel reproduction tubs hands down and is lighter and rust free. If you're not doing a 100% OEM restoration it's the best choice in my opinion. Link over to my screen name and look up my build...not far from being done.

Instant WOOD!!!!
Yes, I agree on frame the matkins frame and all aluminum body. I think I would consider a buff job no paint too!

just got my 3/4 tub I also got the same tail gate installed when I ordered it... still have it sitting on the pallet... see my build thread for pics, but the metal is way thicker than I expected also... I know I will not be disappointed... shipping was 700 from BC to my door in MN. probably would be more if you got the cowl and everything like the one above..

Local mudder has got a truck built with Aqualu parts, it's very nice... It is often drooled over.

And yes, the aluminum is thick... It takes a good beating from a big sledge hammer to straighten out a dinged 1/4... :D

I was fortunate to pick up a new tub cowl and wind shield frame from an individual for 3k and it was only 4hrs from home. It is going on a costa rican 78 bj40 i also picked up at a bargain. My only gripe about the cowl is that 1. the dash isnt recessed (which isnt too big of a deal) 2. I am not crazy about the way the doors mount to the A pillar. I may end up putting soft doors on mine to retain a factor style hinge.

Roma, I'd love to hear your thoughts on the Aqualu vs Pilgrim.

I've got a 27" stretched Aqualu tub and the workmanship is excellent. Takes a good hand to weld up that much aluminum. When I bought my tub 4 years ago, Dominique (sp) was on the phone lines doing customer service and she was great to deal with.

I'll snap some photos of it this evening. aqualu vs. pilgrim? many differences. i would say it depends on what someones intended purposes is for their vehicle. If you live in the rust belt and intend to drive it alot then i would most certainly say the aluminum tub. If your doing more of a original restoration the aqualu is VERY far from it. The pilgrim tubs are NOT as "perfect" as the vendors advertised them to be. Im pretty sure that everyone has had some sort of gripe about theirs. All in all it is a very nice product. i guess it all depends on someones expectations and if they are capable of repairing the faults. Im happy i used the pilgrim tub on my 78 fj40. Im also very anxious to start 78 bj40 with the aqualu body. It will be a welcome relief to not have to be constantly trying to anticipate where rust will begin to appear down the road. i plan on hot dip galvanizing the bj40 frame and also coating it with por 15 and possibly rust bullet as well. The bj40 will most likey have a factory soft top so i hope that should resolve most of the fitment issues people are having with their tops.

Roma,

If your fj40 is any indication, I'm seriously stoked to see your bj40 come together....even if you do refuse to come to Santa Fe...

Roma, just saw on a post here from Skillet that Real Steel's bows can be ordered for an Aqualu tub so you wont have to worry about modifying OEM bows

That's certainly good to know. Here is mine the trans tunnel and windshield frame are stored away. I bolted the tub and cowl together and also had them welded together.

Yeah, the dash is flat. It would be best just to sell me the whole tub for 3K. I'll take it off your hands for ya:)
