The crome on my wheels aren't the best looking in the world and i am thinking of spray painting them to make them look like black crawlers. Has anyone done this? If so can you post some pics?

I have some wheels here that are in similiar shape: I'm shining the chrome up with chrome polish, then using good rust primer and that "chrome" spray paint to touch up the rust areas. It's an alternative to painting. If you go ahead and paint them altogether: make sure you sandblast the chrome or nothing will stick. Only use good high-end spray paint and primer. IMO I think that metalic black would be hot.

noah painted his on his 60 before he sold it etc. don't know what process he used, but you might PM his dumbass to find out.

Rustoleum Hammered silver works well. I did a set of stock wheels earlier this year, looks good and the paint has been holding up well. The Rustoleum Hammered paints also come in black, copper, and green.

Godwin - What did you do to prep them before the paint?

wheel paint

i used that hammered paint by rustoleum that godwin suggested. i did little prepping, just cleaned the chrome as much as humanly possible.

to all my friends shock, it lasted. buy a couple extra cans and just touch it up as you go. it will get scratched off over time.

this was on my old heep before i saw the light and bought a 60.

the paint is texured and not too shiny. i did black. looked sweet.

Something like Durabak or Herculiner is another idea. I know for a fact that Durabak will stick to chrome, and it's three times more durable than any paint.

Cleaned them well with soap and water. Hit the rust (wasn't much) with a wire wheel, but I'm not a detail person so I didn't spend a lot of time on this. Washed off the dust and used carb cleaner to remove any oil/grease/etc. I think I sprayed a coat or two of primer but I don't remember for sure. Here's a pic.
