I am close to going with a full set of BFG T/A's and now realizing that my garage may not be tall enough....so need some help in measuring.

Right now Im on 31x10.5x15" and clear my garage fine. My total garage height at he door is 81" tall. My setup clears fine now, but worried about adding on another 2" in tire height. My man math says it will not clear (at standard 30psi)

If you have this set up - can you measure for me how tall your rig is (at center/highest point on roof).

Thanks for any help you can provide.

2” taller tire is only 1” taller overall (plus new tread depth delta). Are you already on the 2.5” springs ?

So going from 31" to 33" only nets out maybe a 1" difference? Yes, I am on Man-A-Fre 2.5" springs with shackles

Need to validate with someone who has this setup for real-life height check :)

Just measured my total height now and around 79.5" tall at highest point on roof (with 31" tires)...so with 81" opening, that leaves me 1.5" delta...

I have the Pro-Comp 2.5" lift and 31x10.5/15 all terrain tires and at the lowest point of the garage where I pull in and the highest point of my roof ( surprisingly right next to each other only because I backed out with the garage not all the way up ) the clearance is only about 1.5 inches. For me it is not worth trying to find out if the 33" tires will make. I know my truck can fit the 33" tires but my garage can't fit my truck with them on. Coming from my own opinion stay with the 31 inch tires. My 2 cents. I know that doesn't help.

Still interested if someone can measure this setup....will go a long way in helping me out.

Everyones setup is going to be slightly different even if they had “identical” hardware- spring condition/age, shackle length, air pressure, tire manufacturer, etc. Data from other any other setup is 100% not relevant to your situation.

Used one of these to extend my 1940s era garage door height. My 40 on 35s fits great inside now! 🤣🤣🤣

33" tall tires are not 33" tall. You might be able to get on BFG's web sight and see what their advertised height is. Once you get them you can find out what the actual height really is, and there's a good chance its less than the advertised height. If the reference of 33" is the advertised diameter of the tire and the axle mounts in the center of the tire which would be 16.5" from the diameter, so going from 31 to 33 would not be an additional 2", but 1" or probably less. Have you measured the actual diameter of your 31" tall tires that you have? Use a level across the tire and a tape measure.

Good to know man!

Looks like I have 2.25” clear now…I also have the option of reducing down the trim piece you see here by .5” if needed. Not ideal but can do. Garage door sits higher by .5” than trim as well. Blue tape is for me to know high point when backing out.
