Hello Everyone!
Thanks for mentioning us hoser! We are currently looking for a sample OEM axle so that we can engineer a new stronger set of axles for the 100-Series Cruisers. If anyone would be willing to send a half-shaft in for development they would receive the beta set free of charge for testing purposes!
Thanks

well i just got quoted $886 (labor + parts) to replace my CV boots. 7 hours of labor...WTF.
Toyota dealership
i am wondering if that is the cost to replace with new joints. 7 hours seems like a lot of time.Rip off.
I'd buy new CV joints and boot kits. HAve a dealer R&R the joints and do the boot kits on your old joints. When you need boots again you have 2 hot swaps ready to go.
good advice....i'll call now.1. No on the new joints. They're about $325 each..about.
2. The 7-hours is BS. Call another dealer and get a hour quote. Takes 3-minutes. Call you dealer on it. 7-hours is BS.
so yeah, i called two other stealerships and they were just a little over $500. Said 2 hours a side.
So i called up my service girl and she said she would call them and get a true cost....
Update: She just called me back and said "did you explain to them you have a lift in it?" I said there is no difference between my T-Bars and the OEM T-bars except they are a bit stiffer. WTF. I fxxxing hate Dealerships
The LABOR is identical whether or not you have a lift. They mark the bars with a pen and they reinstall them at the same place. Call here back and tell her to stop the bull.
New CV's are around $4-500 each. Then add in labor to swap them out. Boots kits are about $40 each. What I learned from my experience is that dealer's won't quote work on LC's from alldata (source for # of hours a job takes) because LC's take more time to work on, jsut a So, when I got quoted 3 hours of labor for mine, that's a quote for something like a Camry. Real price on mine should have been $329 per side, dealer set price.
8 bills is high, but not loony. And "3 minutes" is from someone who does no work on their own truck.
