they said it took 6 hours for the boots.
That's about right. The FSM does it in two pages, but I've had a knuckle apart and it's not anything that lightning fast. Working quick I bet someone could do each side in 2 hours.

They are over charging you...no doubt. I've been treated very fairly by my dealership. Maybe it's because I bought it new there. Maybe it's because they know I know my stuff in the way I speak to them. Maybe it's because they know I have a private guy who does a lot of my stuff. I don't know. Heck, I even have the shop foreman, a LC owner as well, review every job their service team does on my trucks. He makes sure it's done right.
Looks like I paid for 4-hrs labor to have my CV's swapped and the two old ones rebuilt with new boot kits.
It takes me quite a bit longer than 4-hours to replace 2) CV shaft assemblies and rebuild 2) CV shaft assemblies. Not that I'm in their league but I've done this more than a few times now. That's MORE than fair time billing!
If you're not repacking the hub or replacing the bearings there, it's def. easiest to undo the lower ball joint and swing the hub up and away.

I agree..The question is about time and what procedure you and the dealership is using?
I have never rebuilt a 100 CV but I have removed the shafts and there is a lot less time involved is you swing the assembly.
) you'd be wise to at least repack the bearings while you're there, maybe only adds an hour.Hello Everyone!
Thanks for mentioning us hoser! We are currently looking for a sample OEM axle so that we can engineer a new stronger set of axles for the 100-Series Cruisers. If anyone would be willing to send a half-shaft in for development they would receive the beta set free of charge for testing purposes!
Thanks
RCV Performance
anyone have an update on these? Looks like im in the market for new ones
Liam - Did you break an axle or do you just need new CV boots?
Who'd you get to do yours? Camelback?I just walked in the door from having my front axles replaced. I watched the guy do the job in 75 minutes exactly. 207$ for the whole job after the core charge for my old axles.
