sway bars dont completely eliminate sway though just decrease, otherwise your axel would not articulate at all. only move up and down parallel to the body. do they not serve the same function as torsion bar? i'm not an engineer or suspension designer so i'm not 100%, can you explain in a different way how torsion bar/sway bar work differently? as for the initial question: sway bar for dd, id still say yes. jmo no offence intended.

A torsion bar is just a spring, Its a long bar that twists and thus is spring, they use them in some IFS applications. The easiest way to think about it is that it is just a coil spring uncoiled they share the same basic mathmatical equations for rate. A sway bar is a torsion spring, different application

I'll tell ya what made a big difference on my sprung over 40 was mounting the rear shocks more vertical.
I tried inboarding the tops of the shocks to get more travel and the "head toss" increased greatly. Put them more vertical and it really helps the rear sway.

So if its just a spring, which makes sense why not just bump up your spring rates to compensate for off camber?

Because then it would ride like crap..

The spring is only utilized under articulation, not when the axle raises or droops..

It's on my list for my runner- mini front axle, soft springs, 35's...think it would be much safer on the road. The comment I've gotten back before was "dude, it's not a ricer, just drive slower", but that's NOT the point. The point is the what if- what if you have to make an evasive manuever for the unforseen incident? It would not be pleasant currently in my rig.

55s came with a rear anti-sway bar. I still run mine after the SOA. It's my DD.
I didn't think any Pig ever came with a torsion bar...

I think that 55's came with torsion bars for a while. Might look into that.

i'm def. going to run a front sway bar, i'm going to try to find one locally at the junk yard and fab. something up....

I wondered about the pinion angle too. Haven't had a problem as yet...

here you can see ( sorry I will find a better pic ) my rear pinion angle ..
