@Mr Wonderful Funny, "R"s are ALL I seem to find here (big and small). The older ones are very nice!

BAC = Boeing Airplane Company. It's an equipment number.

Boeing used to have a surplus store where you could buy things like vises.

So I now have 2 baby bullets that were both made in June 1946. Found the swivel base on EBay (slipped through the cracks at less than $600 delivered!). Found the one on the pow-r-arm locally and wanted it because he figured out the old swivel locks fit the hole for the pow-r-arm!!!

The guy I bought it from had a couple other Wilton’s he was trying to sell. Only really wanted the baby but figured if I could catch a good deal for all, I could resell and lessen the cost of the baby. So I bought his C3 and 600N.

Bugged me that the C3 was a shade off so stripped it and now I kind of LOVE it! 170 pounds!!!

@ewillis That is a great find! R series Reeds are fantastic tools. You are missing the swivel base as the 106 of this era would have a 4 hole base. !06 = fixed base 6" 206 = swivel base 6" 306 = 6" filing vise 406 = 6" swivel base and swivel jaw vise

Yep, missing swivel base. At $100, I had no problem with that!

Looking like a proper "hoard" now! Graffitis are too cool. Prentisses are beautiful but fragile vises.

my Prentiss Bulldog says 93 on one side and 53-93 on the other. What does the latter mean if you know?

thanks, that sounds very plausible. I checked and the 93 is on the static jaw but the 53-93 indeed on the dynamic one. The vise has a swivel. It has 4.5" jaws.

I landed this Prentiss 54 for a smokng deal! I've been wanting a graffiti logo bulldog forever. This one has a repair on it but I don't care. The previous owner restored it for me lol. Now it has been assimilated into the larger "borg" of vises waiting to be finished.

I saw that one right after it was posted and knew it had your name written all over it. No way I was going to get over there.

Arts and crafts day today. 50s Craftsman 5” (art deco). Also the cleanest Reed I have ever seen! 105 that has really never seen a stray hammer strike.

Couple more additions to my pile. These may both end up finding another home.

Picked up a Columbian 404 1/2 last weekend. I tried to let it go but it kept pulling at me. It was an outdoor vise that was welded to a stand so some damage to the base. Handle is bent and the swivel nut handle is pretty bent up too. I think parts from a 604 will be interchangeable, at least for the base and swivel nut and 604's are easy to come by around here. I might even have a couple. Someone plugged the swivel jaw hole with a piece of brass that I ended up drilling out. For an interim pin solution I got my 3D printer operator on it. He had it designed and was printing within an hour. I'll probably leave this one as is, it has a nice patina to it.

The other one is a 4 inch Wilton with a 3/53 date code. I saw it listed at an estate sale and was shocked it was still there when I showed up hours after the sale started. Price was right so I brought it home with me. Really just cleaned it up and will probably leave it be.
