Any information on what causes the Toyota tick common in 1hd-t? Any solutions?

Hello all. Recently after an oil change I got the lovely Toyota tick in my 2LTE. I have been trying my best to search for a fix but I can't seem to find any fixes just stories of the same situation with no solution. Most of these posts are old and I wonder if anyone out there has found a solution. The tick occurs after an oil change and will gradually go away with increased km/miles on the oil. The tick I am describing occurs in idle, and when driving low rpms and goes away at around 1800rpm. The tick gets faster with rpms but not any louder until it goes away at ~1800rpm. Sometimes the tick goes away after driving a bit and warming up but that doesn't always make it go away. From what I have read this tick is harmless but annoying. I'm gonna switch over to Rotella 10w30 from 15w40 for the winter to see if that helps as there are reports of thinner oil helping the tick. I also saw a report that ZDDP zinc/phosphorus additive helps. Any information on this would be greatly appreciated. I'm thinking of sending a sample of my oil just in case. The best solution I could find is to not worry about it and hope for the best. I need to get to the bottom of this tick before it drives me insane.

Injection pump can tick
Could be timing too advanced

This is the best clip of the sound I can find:

Have you tried a stethoscope (or some similar improvised sound conductor)? From the video clip the sound seems pretty external, so I would try the injection pump, clutch area and other ancilliaries such as the vacuum pump or AC compressor clutch.

Seems to be a harmonics thing with the 1HDT, have tried a variety of oils, replacing big end bearings etc, doesn't seem to make any difference

I've got the exact tick in my 1HD-FTE. The only fix I've found was using a PTFE additive in the oil.

Using half the recommended amount, which ends up being something like 150ml in 13 litres completely stops the noise for the first 2000kms or so, then ever so slightly comes back - you can only hear it if you listen for it and the window is down driving along a wall or gutter, sort of goes to show the noise isn't anything serious.
I generally do not use any oil additives in any engines, but I'm sure the old 1HD-FTE can handle it.

My ticking noise got a lot worse after I 'flushed' the engine oil by doing another service within 500kms of the previous service. The oil was black on the dip stick before this. Now it stays mostly clear even until the end of the service at 5,000kms. I suspect the particles of soot in the oil helps to stop the noise, much like the additive I'm using with its 'PTFE particles'.

I hate the noise,
I've actually considered transplanting some of the sooty oil from my 1KZ-TE's oil one service to see if introducing back some of that soot into the oil helps with the noise.

Regardless, I've now done over 25k kms on my HDJ79 since I started to hear the noise and it hasn't gotten worse or done damage to the engine! As far as I can tell at least...
