Looks like StanPro offers a similar non rigid double channel. Maybe the people in Adelaide could steer you in a direction. They are listed as Ausi supplier on their sight. Might try some local industrial glass shops as well. Good Luck.

The only possibility for that seal that I have found so far is for the sliding windows on the bandi- and now I can't find the link. Anyone speak Portuguese? If so I'll dig it up and we can inquire. Folkert- I think I sent that link to you before? Do you have it?

pete

Stanpro- check out the self sealing weatherstrip- sliding windows. Might fit? I have no idea because I have not taken mine apart. If anyone has theirs apart can you post up some measurements?

thats the same as this one from fairchild (sold at jc whitneys) Fairchild Industries :: Catalog

although i think its a littlebit to big, looking at their sizes compared with mine.. (width (1 1/16) inch = 2,69875 cm)

I'm talking about the seal that holds the entire assembly into the body of the truck. I'm sure we can find something for the felted weatherstrip. I'm concerned about finding the outer seal. For example the one in the stanpro Self-sealing weatherstrip catalog lists a minimum radius of 4"- So I'm wondering if anyone can measure the metal framework itself in terms of thickness, overall width/length an radius.

hi pete,

ah yeah i get it, i left the window frames in the wallpanel, still looked good, also the outer rubber and the inside rim were ok, just the felt one is dried out..

must admit i've only sourced for the felt ones... not the others... you might give it a shot at this company:

Amayama Trading - Genuine Parts for Japan Used Imports - Amayama Trading

i have the idea, if they cant source it OEM, then its really not available....

greets, folkert

I tried them- they just call toyota and see what is in stock. I can do that myself. And the SOR windows supposedly do not fit. My understanding- and I hope I'm wrong- is that they fit the earlier sides.

Pete

I have had no luck sourcing the felt from Toyota OZ - there is another company that is able to replicate, but I dont know how expensive it will cost per metre.

rarespares.net.au

I will take the image (and my BJ42) in during the week and ask them to cost how much it will be to manufacture.

send me a PM to remind me.

Dan

Ok - it has been a while, but I think I have found a replacement.

I am going around on Monday to get a metre of it to check.

Ahhh-cannot upload a saved pic from iPad.

Will do so later.

Dan

Good news, I got a couple of inches as a sample and it looks like it will do the trick.

I will update the photos later for all to see.

I have to clean out the old strip and measure the length and mark out where all the holes are.

Dan

perfect, I was tipped by pete that the hi ace sliding window weatherstripping works, but that one seems to be hard to get as well here in the netherlands..
very curious how your solution works out... and how the windows will slide, not rattle etc..

very interested in the pics!!!

looks very promising indeed!!! when will you install the final weatherstripping? will need this as well in like 3-4 weeks... where did you get it? do they have an online shop? will buy this one as well...

Folkert,

How do I get the windows out? Do I have to pull the weatherstrip out inch by inch?

I will have a look at it again over the weekend, and hopefully get the weatherstrip on Monday or Tuesday.

Thanks Dan.
