So we are really all Toyota Jeeps per the 1951 origin...?

Instead of Land Cruiser, Land Cruiser 70 series and Prado.

I think there could be a new thread debating the pros and cons of the different models, debate over whether the US Land Cruiser should be badged as a Prado, etc, and there could be extensive discussions and it could get pretty entertaining. But as for the 250 series it does not really matter what you call it. It is the only option offered if you want a new Toyota "Land Cruiser" in 2024. Toyota named it and did not put the Prado badge on it in the US. No idea why, but I couldn't care either way. I really like it, and hopefully it will hold up like the older models have. Only time will tell.

I agree with this, you all enjoy it

If you have kids/dogs, like me, and plan to do some traveling a roof rack will be beneficial, going to be my first mod once the full length Gamiviti hits the market.
Consider Rhino Rack Backbone. . . .

I have one of those on my 200. It is nice, however you do get some wind noise (most if not all racks will). Either a light bar to fill the space or a fairing is probably needed to make it ok at 75 mph.

I made one myself from ABS plate and worked out pretty good. Cuts out the noise enough to make it no longer noticeable. No sunroof would even be better.

Just picked up mine last week , 1958 , White. Love it so far, only thing I sort of miss vs the 200 are all the power features, such as power seats, power rear lift gate, etc. Also think I will miss the rear clamshell hatch I've had on all of my past LCs. MPGs much better, it gets up and goes even with that small engine vs the 5.7 in the 200. The OEM tires are silly, I immediately got some 265/70 K03s. Not sure how I feel about the Gulfstates installed roof rack and Predator steps (came with the deal)..they may be coming off...

Where did you buy it? I'm just north of Austin, (thank God), and want to drive one.

bought it at Toyota of Cedar Park, pretty good deal, they mostly gave more more for my trade vs discounting the new one

I’m interest in these too, haven’t bought “new” in decades but this one has me thinking …

They don't have any in stock there, or didn't last week, when they took 7 hours to do the headlight recall on my Tundra, instead of 3.5. It would have been longer, if I hadn't gone up and threw a WTF fit after 5 hours. Not my favorite place, after that incident, and also them using torque sticks when they rotate tires, causing me to:

- have the driver's side front come loose, (but not free), while driving on the interstate
- rotate my own tires from now on

Be aware...

Kelly, are you on FB? There is a guy there I can hook you up with that saves thousands off MSRP on all Toyotas, you can either do a fly and drive or have it shipped. I'll send you the link in a DM here.

Buyer’s remorse. No matter how you slice it going from v8 to 4banger is a huge downgrade. CarPlay and large nav screen is what they sold us on while taking V8 away.

PS gonna try GX550 next, at least it’s a v6 that’s in every Toyota Tundra, Real Landcruiser 300 and others.

A neighbor bought the GX550 last week, at MSRP. Including tax, she paid $89K. Ouch. But I agree on the V6.

No FB for me, I’m thinking I’d buy through Costco to eliminate all the drama if I get in one and decide I have to have it. You know me… a 40, 80 & 100 that all run like a top so committing to the new car smell will be a big deal.

I hear ya, especially with as much plastic as that smell will contain. I sent you a link to a review posted here on MUD, the guy must live here in town.

We are really enjoying the 250. We traded in my wife’s 4Runner TRD ORP. The steering feels more nimble, engine power is way better in every category, and the interior is well laid out and easy to live with. My only regret is not having power seats and a sunroof. Stretching up to the premium LC or FE for the roof wasn’t within our budget. I think we’ll be fine.

I’ve not purchased a new car since 2000 but went to dealer today to test drive the 250. I’ve got choice between black or meteor shower. I was surprised how much I liked the ride. Tomorrow, I will take the 40 in to see how much they’ll give me on a trade lol. Opened the hood and have no idea how it works.

Meteor shower all the way. Black is no fun to take care of in the long run.

The best though, is heritage blue ;)

It is amazing how much smaller the 250 looks beside a real Land Cruiser…

Lol. Hey Mr Real Land Cruiser, don't you have another subforum to go to? It's listed right above this 250 one on the homepage 😉

Mean Green, looking good, I have the same matched pair.
