Sorry guys I hate to do this but, LC's are so darn hard price. The books (KBB/NADA/Edmunds etc...) are all over the board.

The short story is I found a no rust 2007 with maintenance up to date with 61k on the clock. It is clean inside, outside and underneath (well maybe not Arizona clean underneath, but really nice)

Anyway the price is a firm $28.9.

What do you think, I know i'd be paying a premium, but almost everything else out there is 100k plus miles so hard to find comps.

Thanks in advance for taking to the time to wade through this noob post!

Cheers,

Ryan

Sounds about right. A buddy just bought 2006, clean title, service history and 66k miles and paid 26,500. Good luck!

$28.9 is a deal if it is as clean as you describe. You'll be getting a lot of SUV for that money, and the '06 and '07s are the best hundy's to have.

That is a good deal

I paid 33k for my 200 a couple months ago, slightly different animals, but the extra power in the 200 is worth it IMO.

Thanks everyone for the input.

Regarding the 200 I am in agreement. It appears that the value is really hard to determine. I have found 200's from 35-40k all in approximately similar condition.

The 200 is an amazingly refined vehicle and I question if another 6 months of being patient would net a wonderful 200 in the low 30's.

These decisions are fun and brutal at the same time.

For example:
3 miles from my home, there is a beautiful grey 08' with 70k miles but the are asking $41k. Since we are approximately 7k apart on price, I won't even begin a legitimate discussion.

Cheers,

Ryan

I had the same dilemma last year with purchasing my '04 with 74K, but I ran the VIN to Toyota website, saw exactly what maintenance it had done and when. It was all dealer serviced down to the tires. I paid $24.5 for it. Did I pay too much? Nope! I love it, well worth the piece of mind, and it's a Hundy, I personally place value in that alone.

My 2 cents.

Ryan - 29k for that truck sounds like a pretty decent deal. That's a great year for the 100, plus the 100-series is way cooler than the 200 :)

Go for it!

Hi Everyone,

Just thought I'd drop a quick update. While the truck is clean and a fair deal, the dealer (shocker) offered be about 8% less on my trade than every other dealer I had spoken too and wouldn't budge. Needless to say the total deal wasn't a good move.

Funny how things work out, I stumbled on a 04 LX last weekend that just arrived at the dealer on trade. It has 59K miles and all service maintained at the local lexus dealer.

Needs a timing belt I'm sure, but they made a mistake in posting the price at 23.9k on Saturday and by Saturday night they had adjusted the price to 26.9. Well the dealer is going to honor the 23.9k price and give me fair value for my trade. Just put the deposit down and should take delivery next week.

I'll be sure to post pics, the thing still looks new and they haven't even had a chance to detail it yet.

I'm am pumped! my first Hundy!

Congrats on the new purchase!! Update with pics as they come!

Sounds like a nice score.

Plus, you have a few miles before it needs the timing belt changed.

Well my quest took many twists and turns. I ended up walking away from the 04, although I still believe the 04 is a great vehicle.

I ended up with a 05 with 54k miles and it spent the majority of its life in FL vs. the midwest. All maintenance is up to date and has done been exclusively at Lexus Dealerships on time.

So between the age, mileage and service history, I couldn't walk away.

May I add fuel to the fire?

Hello all, I'm back. After having a successful 4x4 overland expedition to Central America (http://caoexpeditions.com), in which I spent 4 months driving from Augusta Ga, all threw Mexico into Belize and Guatemala and return to Augusta. I sold my highly modified 80 and am now in the market for a Hundy or LX. I'm looking at 99 - 02 and am looking to spend no more than 11-15k. I'm not too concerned about mileage, as long as there are decent service records, no wrecks etc. I plan to use this vehicle pretty much everyday and will probably not make as many modifications as I plan to drive this one mostly as a daily driver for my real estate business. So my questions are, are there any years in this range that are better than others? I really value this forum as you all were very helpful and suggestive before we did the expedition and it meant it lot.
