So I have tried looking back through previous threads on t-cases, but have not found a whole lot of definitive ideas. So here it is... I am building up my '75 40. I did the SOA SR front, and 4link/coils in the rear. Projected WB (haven't welded rr control arms yet) is about 105". Now, I'm throwing in my 383 and 700r4 off my '90 burban. But I am using fj62 axles fr & rr. So I can't use my np241 because of the passenger side 3rd. Thus my question- as to what others running 60 series axles are using, and/or what kind of adapter for a pass. side drop. Im definitely looking to run pretty low ratio's for 40" tires and 4:11's too. Any input would be cool. Thanks :hmm:

203/split tcase..

Mace, do you mean 203/205 split, or can it split with my stock case? Any idea how much length that adds? (probly at least 8-10"?)

Creeper, what toy box are you refering to other than stock? Split with what?

So far the only thing I can think of is maybe a Marlin with the stock case....

Do you know is that a 2:1 or 3:1? Or what exactly is the benefit of the 60 t/c over the 40 with a doubler? (Obviously, the one thing I am not too familiar with is t/c's - still have lots of homework to do on that ).

I mean running a Marlin ToyBox between your tranny and a split case. That way you have your crawl gears in a small enough package, the strength of a split case (they are stronger than a 40-series case) and you will still have an offset rear output. Marlin Crawler > Toy Box

Im still open to others' input. But it sounds like I was sorta heading in the right direction. I like your advice Creeper on the 60 t/c. Thanks

you can center the rear axle if you want to go with an NP205. It is really not to hard. I did it in my FJ62. with 40" tires the NP205 will hold up well. then you can always add the 203 as a doubler.

Very true and inexpensive, but in my experience shifting the 203/205 combo is pain in the butt. You possibly could build better linkage, but shifting them in the Chevy they came in wasn't that much fun, so who knows?

I thought the simple solution that you can get are from marlin/orion are also underdrive gears available for your split case but are only 3.05:1 low range ( and you can choose from underdrive or overdrive in HI ) .. this would be and option if you are concern with yoru DS lenght ..

You price hte adapters for a 203/205 lately?

I dont know, but an adapter, to a 203/205.... Sounds like I wouldnt have much of a DS...And its hard to say how much I would have into that (aside from the fact I have yet to tear apart/mate/rebuild Any t/c ever  , only a minor detail though i guess).
Honestly, I have to look into orion I suppose. I thought for some reason they were all for centered 3rds. Will check that out.
