I'm glad that's a good looking tire on an 18" wheel. I've got a set ordered for some Tundra 18" wheels for mine. Only problem I have is the tundra centercaps are too shallow for the front hubs. Got to try something else.

You can buy 98-02 center caps on Ebay for fairly cheap. That's the route I would recommend. Cruiser Dan can get them for you too. They will be new if you get them through him. Not sure how much though.

Hope you got a good deal on the Tundra 18" wheels. they are everywhere.....

I finally got around to getting the new shocks and OME springs installed. I went with the Bilsteins and the OME 865s. I cranked the torsion bars but still left a little stink bug in the front.

I am happy with how it looks and it rides so much better. There is no more dive when braking and most of the body roll is gone in turns. I was hesitant to go with the Bilsteins after reading a few posts on here about how it made the ride rough. I don't think that's the case at all.....

They are rough when you first put them on, they will "break in" and become the best ride you could ever imagine in a 100

I actually found these on Ebay. They were on a LC for 2 weeks that was flipped so they have already been broken in a bit. I don't think they are rough at all.

Very pleased! Can't believe I waited this long to get new shocks. I have 156K on the original shocks.

Metaltech slider installed

Its been way too long since I have updated my thread. I got in on the MT sliders deal that happened around Christmas. I didn't get them on for several weeks. Just now getting around to updating this with pics. I am very happy with these sliders. They function as a step but not a true step slider.

This is the same angle you can see from the day i bought my LC until now.

I also decided to remove the fender flares. When you get up close, you can still see where they were. I do have a couple of spots to touch up where the fender flare rubbed the paint down to the metal.

After a few months of searching the entire southeast, I finally found my new "old" Land Cruiser. Turns out if came from North MS where the second owner purchased it from the original owner who lived in Memphis. It was well cared for....for the most part.

It is a 2000 with 139K miles. The timing belt and water pump had not been done. I had both of those done along with fluid changes all the way around. It has the infamous clunk when changing from R to D, but my mechanic said it is nothing to worry about.

Attaching a few photos of what it looks like now...Will be a DD for the time being. In the process of removing the gold emblems and painting them black. Running boards will be coming off shortly too.

I went through the interior with 3 coats Griot's leather rejuvenator. It feels much softer now. Still have a coat of Griot's leather care to do before I am finished with the interior. If you have never tried Griot's products, I highly recommend them. Its expensive, but EVERY single product I have tried does just intended. I don't use anything else on my cars!

I bought a Pioneer AVIC F90bt from Liam who has been extremely helpful with the install. It has been installed. Thanks Liam!!

Very excited to be a LC owner!!

Did you use leather care or rejuvenator? My leather is not cracked but getting a little stiff. Will any of this Griot's stuff actually soften the leather? Thx carter

I used the leather rejuvenator the first time on the leather because it felt hard and brittle to me. Now I just use the leather care every couple of months to maintain the leather. You should notice a big difference in how soft the leather becomes after using both products.

I spent a lot of time on the leather when I first got the LC. I bet I spent 10 hours applying the rejuvenator in 3 light coats. The LC does have a lot of leather inside. Good luck and let me know your results.

ARB Sahara installed

When I started my build, I decided that I would do a budget build. I found used Bilsteins and used OME 865 springs. The MT sliders were new, but were on sale.

I found a used Sahara bar on Ebay. It is an 03+ bumper. I watched it the first week. It only had a Buy it Now price plus shipping. The next week the guy listed it as pick up only and started it at 45 with no reserve. I was the winning bid at 152.50. The fog lights and hoop were also included and installed already.

I did have to drive to Nashville to pick it up so another 150 on gas. I have 20 in hardware that was missing for a grand total of 320 installed.

It had a small amount of rust that I touched up. For the price I expected it to be in much worse shape. I had planned to powder coat it black since my sliders are black and the bumper had some scuffs. When I got it, I decided to just leave it as is. I did have to cut a small amount on the DS frame. It was less than half an inch. The install was fairly straightforward.

Very happy about it!!

Nice Upgrades. Armor gives it a different personality all together

Looks good! Seems you need a new antenna mast like my 100 does :)

Coming along real nice!

I've been looking for a Sahara for a while, but still no luck.

Looks nice on your rig.

Heck of a good find on the Sahara for that price. Rig is looking good!

Thanks Romer. I agree that it makes it look like a totally different truck! Yours has made quite a change since you have owned it too.

Thanks. I had the battery disconnected while we were working on the lights. My head unit controls the antenna and the setting reset after the battery was disconnected. I usually have it set up to only raise when the stereo is turned on. Once I set it, it never raises.

Thanks. Keep looking. They come around every now and again. I definitely got lucky on mine.

I thought so too. Thanks!

Now I feel like the tires I have are too small. In hindsight, I should have lifted first, then done tires. I do like that these tires aren't E rated though. How much rougher will E rated tires be than what I have?
