IMLE- The compushift has been pretty good to work with on the 343 for the limited time I've had my 6BT. I spent a good bit of time dialing in the TC and shift points and that has made a huge difference.

The shift kit made a huge difference. I was worried about the trans holding the power with the spongy shifts prior to the shift kit, but feels confident now... Now, the primary concern is twisting the input shaft off--- it's TINY! Glad to see others not mention that though...

No idea of the Tq my 6BT is making, but it's pretty potent. We installed a 3800 gov spring and shift points are set to ~3200 RPM at WOT with the compushift (pump is turned up a good bit, but keeping it shy of rolling a bunch of coal). I'm not running an intercooler and probably won't just to keep things simple.

I got my transgo kit to put in but have not had the warm enough weather to do it yet. When you did yours did you adjust the VB pressure knob from 2 to 3 or just leave it?

well I just got a call from Dustin! He is getting me my air cleaner, reverse light fix, and a new designed intake elbow finally!
He said first of next week it will ship. don't know what number you are calling him on but 503-545-3731 is the number he called me back from. Give him a shout again.
Well it's the first of the week, did you get anything shipped?
He's already a week behind on my last promised ship by date

Sounds like it was missing on 1 or 2 cylinders...may still have air in the lines. I don't suppose you have had the injectors tested have you?

Yes. I maxed out the VB pressure preload. Also adjusted the detent cable so that it was maxed out when at WOT.

On the shift kit, I used the "truck" settings where applicable. The 1-2 shift is quite stiff and the rest are all postive, but not jerky. I adjusted the shift points to hold the grears a bit further into the speed/TPS range so that the TC didn't slip so much as a result of short shifting. This seems to help with economy and absolutely makes the truck more fun to drive.

IN an effort to preserve the TC lock-up clutch, I have the TC unlocking after 60% throttle. I've got the 6BT power turned up enough that I worry it could slip the TC lock-up clutch. With the setting at 60%, I can do a good bit of accell without the TC unlocking, but if I get real aggressive with the fuel, the TC will unlock first and beyong that, the trans will down shift if with the right RPM range. I don't allow the TC to lock until 4th to help relieve strain on components during the 3-4 shift.

The trans sure feels like it's up to the task of moving the rig out an aggressive pace behind the 6bt. I have no illusions that it's never going to be a trans for towing. The input shaft is TINY and clutches few... That said, it doesn't give any signs that says it's not perfectly happy being responsible for getting the 80 up to 80 in a short period of time ;)

precious tropical heat!! got this and a kerosene heater that gets the garage up around tolerable. -10 outside -2 in the shop.

steering brace drop, used the rear sway bar mount.

finally figured out what the trombone thing was, AC plumbing!!!

I couldnt figure out the lower rad hose that cork soaker sent me so I bought the 17" flex (gates 25474) you can see in the pic it also sucks but not as bad as the gates 14" did.

I have two hoses with a elbow connecting my lower rad hose.
