I'd assume the engine is set as far as possible to the driver side so you have as much clearance as possible between your front drive shaft and the transmission...

^ true but there isn't much if any difference in the timing cover ve vs p-pump.

yea it does. Did you take the grid heater off? it does not fit with the intake tube Dustin provides. Up here in Montana we NEED the grid heater, I am sure you guys will need it up in Canada too. I did a crappy job of modifying the stock aluminum intake tube to turn to the back of the block and bought another 45 deg silicone elbow and make it work. Dustin said he was trying to come up with a intake tube that took a cartridge type heater. Said he was gonna send me a prototype to try but that never happened.

So u have an adapter bolting a 6bt to the first gen LC tranny? Sounds interesting, will it handle the torque????

I almost have an adapter I'm still waiting on parts from dustin at dieseladapters

well I just got a call from Dustin! He is getting me my air cleaner, reverse light fix, and a new designed intake elbow finally!
He said first of next week it will ship. don't know what number you are calling him on but 503-545-3731 is the number he called me back from. Give him a shout again.

@FZJohnny as far as the tranny handling the torque I have the A434 tranny and it is holding up well and I hear the 442 trans is stronger than the a434.

My factory intake horn "kisses" the hood with intake heater attached. The hood is notched on one of the braces where it touched. If no body lift I would have a bigger problem.

Looks like there's a body lift in my near future. Or a hood scoop ya hood scoop it is, this thing needs more redneck

I haven't found any measurements on aftermarket intake horns when I did some web searching. My guess is they all sit about the same height.

Sweet, so u can get the bell housing for either tranny!
How tough is the overall swap?
Would it be close to the same amount of work as say a 5.3 ls swap?
Was leaning that way but if the 6bt is a little easier and not crazy more expensive I may play the traitor card and jump ship
