another "can I fit this battery in my 100" thread

As for the Al skills, I can TIG but prefer the spool gun when I can get away with it for a few different reasons. Here is another battery tray I built for a buddy's KK. It goes under the bed in the stock battery compartment and holds 2 lifeline batteries of obsessive size. They are held in by straps. The middle section is hinged and houses the inverter, charger, circuit breakers, plugs, etc.

Nice looking work. BTW you have more welding helmets than I have pairs of shoes...

I'm assuming it'll work for an LX as well correct?

You'll need to get it covered in faux wood grain for it to work in an LX...:flipoff2:

haha, nice. I am assuming it would fit and LX different looks, same engine bay. I believe the body panels are stamped toyota? Atleast that is how it is on my friend's LX450.

I decided to go with a plate steel construction for the clamp. It should be easier to cut and assemble. I have not decided on the tray material though. I am starting to lean towards steel as well though. Let me know If you are greatly against it and maybe we can work something out. Also, the plate steel offers some sort of customization since it will be cut on the waterjet. Let me know you would want something cut into the clamp (see pics for some ideas).

As for pricing I will keep track of the hours and material used to formulate a price. This is not the first time I have built and sold things. Based on what work I believe is involved with cutting and assembly I estimate $50 shipped to be the going rate but may be subject to change. I would also charge and extra $10 for and sort of customization/ personalization due to the extra tool pathing and cutting time.

Let me know if you have any questions and PM me if you want yours to be personalized.

So far I have:
1)Oregon
2)Cappy
3)3D FJ

Any other takers for a 31M DH platinum or other battery clamp and tray?

Pics to get the juices flowing:

Thanks, haha. I work out of my school so I has access to all of these wonderful machines and want to enjoy them while I can. They are for our welding class. I prefer my miller though:cool:.

If you could waterjet something like Land Cruiser into the clamp that would be uber cool. Don't know how well that would work on space. WJ the tray would be a waste IMO because it's covered.

Did you make those sliders?

I would like Lexus on the clamp. I agree that anything on the tray is kind of a waste.

Are we doing the Bus Bar as part of this kit?

Now I have to find some wood veneer for my clamp because it's a Lexus.. :grinpimp:

Can you WJ the bus bar to say "LX"? I wonder if you could see sparks coming from within the letters.

j/k

Yeah, I dont know how much space there will be exactly. Nothing to large or detailed, mostly symbols. The 60 series LC might fit but it would be sideways

and yes

Here is a better Lexus logo. With the wording in case it would fit.

Thanks again for taking on this project.

Upon taking another look, the top strap is only 1.5" wide so I think only the logo will fit and still look good.

Yes.

... and you're not selling them why? those sliders are gorgeous!

Thanks, I dont really have a good answer for why I dont make or sell any:meh:. My cruiser and school typically keep me busy enough and now I am starting to build a Formula SAE car:rolleyes:. I guess it is just the time involved. Once I graduate and get through pilot training, then I guess I can start to think about things like that but until then, they are one of a kind!:flipoff2:

Well, if you ever change your mind...

I should trade you some flight training for some sliders... :)

Hmm, thought this was a battery thread. Nice sliders though

Just bought the group 35 smaller 770 CCA for the startering battery. I like smaller. When heading out to the trail, I take burritos wrap them in foil or other things and stick them in the battery box. By lunch time, they are nice and hot. I need my food wramer:D

I did get the Group 34 for the second battery with higher Cranking amps
