J you are crazy for sanding down good paint!

What you sanded off is more than my bad spots where I have no paint. Speaking in square inches.

Looks good though :)

Gorgeous man, good work :D I need to get on that myself!

Thanks Johnny, I really like it so far. Hope it holds up as long as the Upol on Moonshine.

Yea Kline, everyone probably thinks I'm crazy but, the roads I travel are usually coarse sand and chip rock. It eats the lower panels in no time. So, just a precautionary measure IMO.

Got the front bumper and winch on but, that's it for today... Also a side view of Marley with the Monstaliner as well.

Enjoy

Holy Batman! Is your Day job ... a brain surgeon?? Amazing what you are doing with aim, cut, grab some sheet metal and tack...weld... presto. Like others have said----you make it look so easy & yet there is so much going on behind those snapshots. 450 hours....THAT is love!

Congratulations, this is a really fine piece of craftsmanship reevsci! Look forward to more stuff...
I wish I had your skills there on the body work...there are some really cool ideas in my head if I could only get them out and onto the metal....

Thanks for the compliment Rastaforte. I've got a few more hours on top of that 450 I posted earlier on for sure. Probably bumping the 600 hr mark for sure. No brain surgeon here, HA!. Just love playing with these cruisers.

You have done a great job on the 6BT and that downpipe looks like some skill and precision went into that. Everyone has their talents and skills. It sure makes it nice when you enjoy it as well.

I still have a ways to go but, I'm getting closer!

It's gonna look trick with tint. You going as dark as legally possible?

35% on the tint. Be dark enough for me. I went with the Gila Ultra Shield tint again. Like the UV protection as well as it really keeps the inside much cooler than most others I've used.

Got the delivery earlier this week.

How difficult is it to apply tint yourself?

How difficult is it to apply tint yourself?

Johnny, it's not hard just time consuming. Our cruiser door windows are easy because the edges are completely framed, therefore a little room for error and the full frame helps hold the film in place better when working the tint IMO. The cargo and rear glass are a bit trickier. Leave a little extra around the perimeter and use the install tool or a credit card. Use vast amounts of soapy water, johnsons baby shampoo etc.., new razor blades and take your time. I've done a few tint jobs now and I enjoy doing it.

If you have an old door glass laying around go buy some cheapo auto supply store stuff and practice a little first. It is intimidating at first but, it gets easy quickly..

I love the line you went with, seems like most guys go with the front fender line instead of going with the width in the rear. I want to do the same to mine but im afraid the contrast will be to severe with my color, yours looks money, great work rev

Okay, you were right, the Monstaliner looks good. You might be able to go into business building these rigs and selling them.

Looks amazing man!

Thanks Trapper.. Can't wait til I'm out with Marley on a trail, H**L I'd settle for a trip to the store with her at this point.

Monstaliner has some great colors, a desert tan to be exact, request some color chips/samples. Magnetman will send you a few to look at against your cruiser. Can't say enough about this product, I'm thoroughly pleased.

Hmmm, not sure on the complete restoration scenario but, I would however, entertain the idea of getting back into the fabrication game again... :grinpimp:

Damn looking real good man. I got my paint chips from MonstaLiner the other day and the stuff looks real good. Since the cruiser I will be picking up is pretty beaten up I might use a couple gallons and do the entire thing like one of the other guys did.. still debating on that.

Your build has definitely been an inspiration for most, if not all, of us and we strive to have the excellent turn-out you have had.

Now what did you use to paint the stock rims black? I actually kinda like them like that and seeing as I was possibly looking at getting black rims I may just take that en-devour.

G, thanks man, I used Duplicolor etching primer and Rustoleum Professional satin black on everything...... trim, wheels, bumpers, you name it... that's what it is. I can't find it online anywhere but, I bought it at my local hardware store.

If you use the Monstaliner on the whole rig.... It's a PITA to get off. The bonding strength this stuff has is INCREDIBLE. I spilled some on my metal workbench and I D*** near had to use a grinder to get it off. Wire wheel finally got it clean. So, if you are thinking you ever want to "just sand it off"..... THINK AGAIN!!!
