If you use the Monstaliner on the whole rig.... It's a PITA to get off. The bonding strength this stuff has is INCREDIBLE. I spilled some on my metal workbench and I D*** near had to use a grinder to get it off. Wire wheel finally got it clean. So, if you are thinking you ever want to "just sand it off"..... THINK AGAIN!!!

J

LOL.. thanks man. There is one guy that used it over his entire rig and it came out pretty well. I was thinking of it as a temporary thing but if it is that hard to get off then screw it, not even going to bother, might use it for the rockers/fenders like you did though if they have a closely matching color. Should hopefully have mine in a month!!

Reev how do you think it would work on wheels, I want to paint my wheels but I see a lot of peoples wheels that where painted having it all flake off

Monstaliner on wheels? Is that the question? HMMM.. If so, I'm not to sure. As far as adhesion, no problems what so ever if you can get a good enough surface prep. I would also wonder if it might throw off the balance a tad or cause complication to balance the wheels.

The paint I used hopefully will hold up good on the wheels. A lot of the flaking or peeling issues are due to a poor prep. I've painted wheels and whatnot for years.. Yes, I do agree it doesn't last as long but, even if you paint them 2x a year or every other year isn't so bad.

Monstaliner is an idea though... :hmm: It's got me thinking....

I want to make front bumper (darwink style) roof rack, snorkel, sliders and rear bumper all painted with monsterliner and wheels as well with the pyroclastic I'm thinking. Waiting on my color chips that I ordered, I don't really want to do black

I really like the half doors. Good Job!.. Black would stand out on your cruiser for sure. I think the light grey quartz is too light. I'd lean toward the medium quartz as my first pick and then pyroclastic. That's looking at the online samples and toggling back and forth. The pyro looks like it'll stand out but, of course, not like black..

I'd like to see the chips up against it..

YOU SLUT!!! ;) (Just remember I put dibs on marley like 25 pages ago!!! )
All kidding aside, much love bro, hope it goes well Saturday!!

If you are driving down to Durango you should take a quick stop (ok well maybe not quick) in Steamboat Springs. Great place and absolutely beautiful, check out some of the local fare, and maybe take a ride on the gondola up to the top of the mountain. Great small town and the hot springs (not the ones in town the ones out past Lowell Whiteman) are incredible.

She is coming along great, cant wait to see her done!

The hot spring in Radium is really beautiful too!

Thank you; now if I can get the time to get the other ones done; I can't wait for the chips to come in.

YES, YES I AM!! I do remember the dibs, but I'll keep Marley for awhile.

Do tell !! :grinpimp:

1972-FJ55 2F with 3sp...... Also, be looking at a Cummins 4BT.. a few miles further up the road as well.

Maybe..Maybe not but, it will be hard for me to say no if its in reasonable condition.. Has very little rust, and no rust through any metal the man says. If that's true, man I won't know what to do.... HA!.

I'll keep ya posted.

Awesome, it'll look like a pig and snort like a pig... and with a good turbo it'll squeal like a pig. :pig:

Man, I ran across a pig a few days ago as well, I have got to get one someday. It was at a J-yard but mostly still all there. Setup with a v8 in it. I should probably post over at the preservation society page for those guys.

Post pictures if you get that ugly fat bitch so I can drool over her.

I wish I could find old iron in junkyards around here; guy from the yard said as soon as they come in they get stripped and sent across the border

There is a guy that lives in town that has a nicely done pig. Blue on bottom white on top (well like teal or whatever on bottom) and looks like a slight lift with the split rims, hubs and tall tires. God that thing is beautiful every time I see it but the wife always says "the front of that thing is ugly!" and I tell her, "that is why it is called THEPIG!" Would love to have enough space, money and time to have a 45/47, 55, and 60!

Pickings are slim around here to. But, I'm in between Denver and Salt Lake so, not to bad of a trip to go browse.

The 55 is just a work of art, the lines are subtle and the block style body is just strong looking.. Simple in design but, man is it awesome..

I hope all works out. It sounds like it is/was red and white.

Buddy of mine just did a 55 with a v-8 and did a really nice job. I'll post pictures if I can find them.
