I'm still looking for a way to ink C-Dan on my rear too.:D

I had to get a tattoo on my left cheek that says Buy American! Get all your Toyota Parts from CruiserDan@IH8MUD.com"

That was the only way he would give up the voodoo doll that had my name on it. :crybaby:

Pics on request.

Damn that's cool! I hadn't heard of using bedliner that way. I'm impressed. That's one of the best looking rigs I've seen yet.

But bedliner as an outer coating -- that's sheer genius.

Hat's off,
Willie Coyote

No offence Willie, but you're showing your lack of initiative in reading current & past threads here in the 80-section. This has been done dozens of time on 80s and, in fact, the current ROTW (DanKunz) has taken this "outer coating" to the next level.

Two other quick questions:
1. What size are your BFGs?
2. How much lift are you runnning over stock?
I think your truck looks great.

Both yours and your dad rigs look awesome! Hope to see you in Hollister on Dec 9th. :)

Rhino treatment

Hey, I was wondering - do you need to do any sort of special preparation before treating the outside of a vehicle with bedliner? On your inspiration, I plan to do this to a wreck of a 93 4Runner I'm restoring.

Also (being nosey) do you mind sharing how much the treatment cost on the Cruiser?

Thanks,
Wm

You typically chemically clean with something like Xylene. Scratching up the surface is also good for bonding.

My next mod is coating the entire rig.

I like it. The flareless look is damn cool. What kinda $$$ amount (if ya don't mind me asking) did it cost? There are a few places here in Houston that have done inside and outside of trucks and I'm wondering what it might cost.

cc93cruiser- Looks good! Do your tires stick out past the wheel openings now? What size tires are you running? Any chance you could post a head on view?

Norcal cruiser, the tires do stick out more now with the flares removed. Tire size I am running is 315/75/r16 (35" tires). I will take a pic tomm. during the day if I get a chance, though I am hella busy at work, get home when it is hella dark..

Did you do the work yourself or did you have someone do it? Also, did you prep the surface?

My dad actually did all the prep work including the removal of flares. He covered all the holes with a little fiberglass/urethane?(that's what he told me it was called, he was a body man for about 40 years, so I am sure he did the right thing). Other than that, the Rhino Liner dude did the rest, 3 coats I believe he said.. I know that he took of all four doors to get the insides of the doors and other areas.

is the road noise less after the Rino liner?

What's up Ken! Long time no see/talk. I don't think I even saw you at Pismo 06? Back to the ?- I have not heard of any noise difference wether it be louder or quieter.

I have the whole truck coated and aside from the leak between my cats I would say it is quite quiet.

For all the folks wondering how much the job cost, and how long it took, it cost me about 900.00 bucks ( I bit steep, but this is the best job I have ever seen on with bed liner on any body panel besides a bed. He also has to take off all the doors to do more detailed work ..) Took about 3 days, cuz he had other work..

Interesting.. Maybe because the whole cruiser is coated..?

Bed liner on the outside of a 'Cruiser?!? Wow, what a concept! But, yes, it's been done before...3 gallons of Herculiner (on sale, 60 bucks per) and a weekend to roll on 2 coats.

Is that a cowbell on your front bumper??
