No offence Willie, but you're showing your lack of initiative in reading current & past threads here in the 80-section. This has been done dozens of time on 80s and, in fact, the current ROTW (DanKunz) has taken this "outer coating" to the next level.
Hey, I was wondering - do you need to do any sort of special preparation before treating the outside of a vehicle with bedliner? On your inspiration, I plan to do this to a wreck of a 93 4Runner I'm restoring.
Also (being nosey) do you mind sharing how much the treatment cost on the Cruiser?

I like it. The flareless look is damn cool. What kinda $$$ amount (if ya don't mind me asking) did it cost? There are a few places here in Houston that have done inside and outside of trucks and I'm wondering what it might cost.
cc93cruiser- Looks good! Do your tires stick out past the wheel openings now? What size tires are you running? Any chance you could post a head on view?
Norcal cruiser, the tires do stick out more now with the flares removed. Tire size I am running is 315/75/r16 (35" tires). I will take a pic tomm. during the day if I get a chance, though I am hella busy at work, get home when it is hella dark..
My dad actually did all the prep work including the removal of flares. He covered all the holes with a little fiberglass/urethane?(that's what he told me it was called, he was a body man for about 40 years, so I am sure he did the right thing). Other than that, the Rhino Liner dude did the rest, 3 coats I believe he said.. I know that he took of all four doors to get the insides of the doors and other areas.
What's up Ken! Long time no see/talk. I don't think I even saw you at Pismo 06? Back to the ?- I have not heard of any noise difference wether it be louder or quieter.
For all the folks wondering how much the job cost, and how long it took, it cost me about 900.00 bucks ( I bit steep, but this is the best job I have ever seen on with bed liner on any body panel besides a bed. He also has to take off all the doors to do more detailed work ..) Took about 3 days, cuz he had other work..
Bed liner on the outside of a 'Cruiser?!? Wow, what a concept! But, yes, it's been done before...3 gallons of Herculiner (on sale, 60 bucks per) and a weekend to roll on 2 coats.
