I've searched but need some quick opinions. I picked up an 87 2f last week with gm FI, going in my 76 fj40. . I could not quickly get the GM system working but will in a few months. Im running an amazon knock off carb, that ran on my 76. It does not have the fuel return line hooked up as the carb isnt plumbed for it. I need to get this rig running tonight. I took my 76 pump and installed it on the 87 without a spacer. Right now I can start the rig on starter fluid or when I fill the float bowl with gas, but there's no fuel coming through the glass filter to the carb. I'm going to quickly buy a pump from Cruiserteq.com and pick it up today.

Without the fuel return line, can I run the 87 pump and cap the other ports?

Is there a (I hate myself saying this) electric pump I can use with this knock off carb without a return line?

Here's the pump I have:

I ran a 3 line mechanical pump to a 2 line carb on an '83 2F, and I simply plugged the return-to-tank port. This was necessary to create enough fuel pressure to feed the carb. Ran great, no issues. I did this because I had a 1965 gas tank in a '65 FJ45 and a late model engine. At the time, I asked on Mud if this would create high pressures or issues, and the answer was 'no'.
