And now I have a pearl 99 LX. 190k. I love this truck it is soooo smooth! Not perfect but I gonna drive the wheels off it anyway! She's mostly clean. Lil surface rust here n there..
AHC is removed good ole coil spring in place.

Small issues..
High beams are broken, no blown fuses. (Actually low beams. Blown bulbs. Fixed.)

And the remote key had a dead battery replaced that. Does this deprogram it? Red light on the key works now. No locky trucky. (Still on this one...)

CEL is on.. But the air filter was way dirty.

I'm not mad for less than 7k.

Updates in orange!

Nice truck and congrats on the new ride!!!!!

Have you tried the key reprograming steps that are available in the FAQ section?

What is the CEL for?

The CEL codes for O2 sensor bank 1, I do beleive....
My buddy who has a 99 LC told me it is part of the game.
I've tried a reprogramming process from another website. I am off to paruse the FAQs now.

Welcome! Just replacing the remote battery does not de-program it. However, if the previous battery was dead for a long time, that may have caused it to lose programming. The high beams being out is an interesting issue. You'll probably have to check circuit breakers and relays too (if it's not the bulbs or damaged wires). I like those air deflectors on the windows. Can you tell what brand they are?

The wind things are Auto Ventshade part #94221L outta Lawrenceville GA (Its stamped on em! HA!)
Ill mess with the reprogramming thing this afternoon..
And the highbeam issue may be a lowbeam issue.. Have had the truck for less than 24 hours and Im noting a touch of a "operational learning curve."

Having just bought an LC100 in the same color and same mileage (but 6 years younger), I like! Mine has much more gold on it though, it's from Dubai.

I just removed the running boards, highly recommended looks-wise.

Checked the lights. The lowbeams are burnt. No prob on the fix there. I wanna ditch the running boards. But the fairer (aka shorter) portion of the household objects..
Still trying to get the key fob to operate the system.. No go as of yet.

Talked to the dealer. He says he'll do the tires 50/50 split with me so maybe won't get MT/AT's this go.. But even 20k on $300 off brand tires is OK with me at this point.

No regrets on this thing at all.

I wonder if the dealer would be willing to give you in cash what they would have on cheap tires and let you apply to that to good ones. The BFG AT KO2 are available in the size for your truck and are $891 from the Tire Rack. Good tires are important for lots of reasons. I worry the dealer may chose a really cheap, poor quality tire that you would regret.

Soooo on my foiled attempt to replace a door actuator so my key fob will work I found out that previous owners used the door card for a piggy bank!

It seems as though the coins had been there a while.. but there is zero evidence of water damage.. I'm thinking it must have been caused moisture build up from the humidity as it has been a NC car most of its life. And as for gold... I still have 3 more doors to check! :)

After much review of the the "door lock actuator" threads I tackled it again.
Figured out how to pop the door handle lever with a screwdriver and hammer (thanks LCFAQS)

A few things that nobody stated I needed:

30mm Torx
And the "other actuator motor" AKA the one with the copper/brass collar.

Bought this actuator: Central Door Lock Actuator Motor FC-280PC-22125 FLAT SHAFT, D Spindle, Power Locking Repair Engine - Motor Accessories - Amazon.com

Needed this one: Amazon.com : Central Door Lock Actuator Motor FC-280PT-22125 Brass Collar Shaft : Other Products : Everything Else

Good thing is I can get an actuator out in like 10 min now. Bad thing is I'm still waiting on the second actuator. Probably gonna be a 20 min fix on the next go around!

The more I wrench on this the more I like it.
