Ambulance Door Hinge Rubber Stop?

Rig: 1978 FJ40 2F

I've searched with the terms "ambulance door hinge rubber stop" and cannot find any posts related to this part. At least that is what I would refer to it as. It is installed only on my right rear lower hinge of my ambulance door. It does not appear there were ever these same rubber stops on any of my other ambulance door hinges.

I need to replace it and do not see it on the exploded view of the ambulance doors for my 1978 FJ40.

Anyone know what part this is or if I'm even naming it correctly?

Toyota USA Discontinued , i checked recently

only source i know may have them is @FJ40GURU , contact him .

He lives Down in OZ where this part seems to be readily available still

So it's just a piece of rubber compared to the plastic piece that covered the whole door side of the hinge?

68959-90301 Is the plastic piece I am referring to.

Being NLA, I replaced mine with a piece of rubber door edge trim.

Per Toyota's EPC; it goes on both ambulance door lower hinge.

Unless those things circled in red called retainers are not the pieces we are talking about, but I could be wrong. Note, my rig only had the old brittle pieces on both lower hinges, so replaced both pieces with some door edging.

there is one concrete way to find out for sure , when u type in the call out # or product code in toyota's EPC it tells u how many / Qty. are on the vehical itself


but , it would make sense sorta , that they were only on the lowers , as the uppers are @ a 10-15 degree beveled angel and would be prone to falling off maybe ?

Ok, so SOR lists 2 separate retainers with differing part numbers:

136-60A
136-60B

BACK DOOR LOWER HINGE RETAINER -
Fits 1/75-7/78 Ambulance style rear doors - Retainer only fits ONE inch wide body side of hinge - does not fir the wider or larger hinge.

So assuming there are actually two - one for left and right lower hinge. I'm missing my lower left hinge retainer altogether.

D - If I'm right about what the retainer's are, here are the ones on my rig. They are sort of like a 'door stop' to keep the hinge from hitting metal-to-metal when fully open.

Left rear lower hinge, maybe OEM, as it is more of a squared-off U shape? Based on post #13 from @rkymtnflyfisher , I'd guess both of mine are aftermarket? But serve the same purpose.

Right rear lower hinge, I installed some door edging.

This is the style I have on mine. Were you able to determine if it is still available part? I have been unsuccessful in locating them. I believe it is the OEM part as I have seen them on other rigs of the same year.

But I just got this in the mail... it works for me
