I welded mine on both sides. What you can do it cut the sleeves long, bolt everything together and tack the sleeves in place. Unbolt the box, finish weld and grind flat.

Did you run a plate on both sides of the frame?
With the box this far rearward, the shock will need to be placed almost vertical to clear it. Plan is to use a shock hoop. Anyone see any issues? The 40 will stay spring under so will not see any hardcore articulation.
I have no personal experience but reading leads close to vertical being ideal. This allows the shock to use its valving most effectively.
