due to the rarity of that fj you might want to eep it as stock as possible and just get another one and do it up for 4x4 ? it will pay off later on, good luck and great find! i bought mine new in 1980 and been working on it ever since,it become a real sickness ,i may need counsilling?

Your probably right about getting another one. I keep thinking I would like to put in power steering, dics brakes, 4" lift, 33" tires and maybe a bumer/ winch set up. I should just sell it and get a really nice FJ40 thats done. It would be sad to molest this rig since its probably one of the rarest ones out there. only 7,500 or so miles and all origional. hmmmmm what to do.....

I agree, keep this beauty original and drive it on nice weekends then get another one to mod out for offroading. Very Nice rig!

Very nice find I would have bought it in a heartbeat as well. I like my rig but there is nothing like a completely stock find. Congrats!! MORE PICTURES PLEASE!! :)

Already contemplating getting another one? Wow! I didn't think the disease attacked the brain that fast. Nice 40, welcome to the sickness.:flipoff2:

How about some more pics--engine bay underneath?

This could be a documentary post on OEM!

I bet the ol Doc didnt even mess with the Bezel;)

I should be back down to Oregon soon from Alaska and will get some more pics for you guys. There is one guy looking for a picture of a sticker on the valve cover, I will try and get that pic for him as well. I just took her for a sunny drive the other day...:steer: and boy was it a fun ride. Does anyone know the safe cruising speed of a 3 speed 1969 FJ40; the specifications say 85mph and I say BS. I noticed around 55-60 she was doing about as much as she wanted to.

Well your right I did.....but its a 2000 Land Cruiser though. I did however take the Fj40 out for a cruise to the beach last week on a nice sunny day then bam the rain kicks in and it comes down like I pissed it off persionally and its payback for driving only in nice weather.

Cheers
