Back home. Hit most of the high spots and favorite camping places on the Kenai Peninsula. According to the log on the Gaia app we drove 631mi. Probably round it up to 640mi since I missed turning it on a couple of short stretches. Roughly indicating half tank or slightly lower in each tank. Felt a little bit grumpy on today’s drive home. Gonna change out the offending metal heater tubes and look things over then maybe try another trip to keep adding hwy miles before winter hits and all it does is sit in the garage or go for short trips.

Looks like a great trip, and good intel on how the truck performed. I hope to be able to drive up there one day and appreciate all you shared on the area. How do like using the Gaiaa app? Is it good for trails and off road? Your LC is looking great and I think the self made topper and pop top tent are the tits. Nice work.

haven't been able to make the app work like I hoped it would. It doesn't show a lot of campgrounds, for one example, which I would think would be a no brainer?

Great photos, thanks. Nice to get a visual tour of that country. It looks a lot like around here. Not raining in Whittier, what a treat!

Well, that took way too long, as usual. Changed out the duel heater pipe over the top of the engine. Ended up that where I thought the leak was isn’t. Maybe it only leaks under certain conditions, since in the past it would only leak certain times. Oh well at least I have a new replacement.

Just curious, is that the original heater valve or a replacement? You don't happen to have a part number do you? =)

Just got home from a 3 day trip. Get ready for another picture dump.
Fueled up a week ago Friday for the first 5 day trip south. Fueled back up last Friday for the 3 day trip.
780mi/34.2gal=22.8mpg (all ish)
This was with maybe 65% at 55-60mph and 40-45% at 65mph.
So, theoretically if I can get the tanks empty I would be good for little over 1000mi. Will see how this 3 day shakes out mpg wise as it is about 70% 65mph/ 30% 55-60mph, and a lot more hill climbs and elevation changes.
