The ones on my 62 grenaded. Does anybody have a GOOD used set or know where I can find a set. Marlin crawler is sold out. I posted this in wanted but am not getting any love. I would rather get a good used set of aisins over new warn premiums. If I get warns the guys at the land cruiser clubhouse will tease me :o .Any ideas?

I like cruiserparts but everything I get from them is rusty.

Do NOT buy Warns. They will break, seen it many times.

Keep an eye on eBay. I'm pretty sure that solid axle mini truck hubs are the same thing, just a red dial.

How did you grenade them? Really rare, IMO.

Hijack

Sorry for the thread hijack but I'm also looking for a set of Aisin hubs for my 40 does anyone know how much they are new?

Thanks sorry again for the hijack

I'm not really sure. The dial for the pass side hub was hard to turn. When I disasembled
it, the pawl was very distorted and the spring was bent. Stinks that you cant buy individual parts for these hubs but I guess there isn't a big need since they dont break very often.

If that is all that is wrong with your hubs then you are in luck! The hubs on my second 62 were like this when I bought it and with a little patience was able to bend everything back into shape and have had no problems with them since then. Unless the pawl is toast you might be able to get them back into shape. Have GT take one of his apart for you so you can see what it should look like. Good luck!

Yeah I spent a little time trying to bend them back but I wasnt pleased with the results. They are probably in good enough condition for trail spares but thats about all I will trust them for. The were pretty mangled. So a lesson to everyone. When your hubs wont turn freely........do not take a pair of pliers to lock them in. :o

Have you tried Cruiser Dan or John Hocker or even SOR for just the srping and pawl? I would think these parts are still available from Toyota. ???

I tried Hocker, no dice. He said to try and find some good used ones or just swallow my pride and get warns.

I'd try SOR then. Hell, I'd buy new ones from MAF before I'd go to Warns! You'll be catching chit from more than just the boys at the clubhouse if you go that route!!! Keep looking and something good will turn up. There are plenty more used parts houses that might have what you need. Cruiserparts.net lists the entire unit for $50 each and that would be well worth the elbow grease to remove a little rust. Not much on the hub to rust anyway.

I tried telling him, but there is no talking to him about the OEM gospel. Jes takes the sawsall to new levels, so you don't want to cross him.

Seems like ebay is the best bet so far. You can pick up a pair and just use the parts you need out of them, keeping the parts you already have.

Yeah, shouldn't take pliers to lock\unlock your hubs.. learned that one.

This is what happens to Warns when you get rough with them:

I'm with GT, keep watching eBay.

I've got my eyes peeled ;)

Cruiserparts.net says they have them in stock... e-mail them and make sure they are clean.

wierd but NO hard parts are avaible or ever were, only the dial gasket and inner hub gasket........yeah I was suprised!
