Hello 60 Series Owners!

Air Down Gear Up is pleased to (formally) introduce our 60 Series Land Cruiser system. As a brief introduction to anyone who may not know us from the 80/100/200 and GX community, we specialize in making premium vehicle storage, sleep and kitchen systems. Our system utilizes an all-aluminum frame mounted directly to the vehicle via a solid, machined aluminum 'anchor bar'. We focus on integrating as cleanly with the vehicle as possible. We want our system to enhance the appearance of your vehicle AND provide a lifetime of high performance.

The 60 Series offering has been available in the past, but was essentially a modified 200 series system. We finally created an exact fit system to perfectly compliment your 60 Series. Our system can be configured with or without the integrated, convertible (and patented!) sleeping platform. The sleeping platform is self-supporting and does not impact the 2nd row in any way. You can run our sleeping platform with or without your 2nd row in place.

The drawers feature a full extension, ball bearing slides that provide full and easy access to all of your gear. The slides feature a lock-in and lock-out mechanism (an all-metal component for a lifetime of predictable use) to provide safe, rattle free access to your gear. We utilize a particular slide with adjustable stops, meaning there is ZERO noise from these drawers when stowed. In addition to the lock-in/lock-out mechanism, a keyed lock can also be included to prevent unwanted access to your valuables. The drawers contain 100% rattle-free, moveable dividers so you can dial in your storage exactly to your needs.

The drawers are compatible with both our slide out table and the drawer top work surface. The slide out table is a fantastic addition to the system, as it provide a great place to prepare food, stash gear, hold a drink, run a stove, anything you need! The slide out table is quick deploying and can be used with the drawer open or closed.

The system has wings on the sides of the drawers that can be opened while the drawer is shut to enable access to the storage area outside the drawers, around the wheel-wells. Additionally, this area can be accessed from the top via wings in the top panels.

What other details can I provide about our 60 series system? We look forward to working with more of you!

Love this. I already have a solid system in my 60, but very impressed with what you guys sell. I am outfitting a 4th gen 4Runner and didnt see a system on your site, only 3rd and 5th....I passed on the site to my boys who have 3rd gens, but want one for my 2005. Got anything coming? Cant imagine the 3rd and fourth would be THAT different. Tempted to get out there with a measuring tape. Let me know...and again, looks like a fabulous offering.

Thanks for the kind words! I'll also reply in the other thread as well just to keep the convo going! Long story short we do indeed have a 4th Gen 4Runner offering, but it blocks access to the wheel well cubbies. We've advised simply removing the covers and using them as open storage (as the 5th gen does stock), but we got tangled up with an unhappy customer as a result of that. Not enough interest for a system re-design specific to the 4th gen on our end, so we pulled the listing and work with customers 1:1 if they are looking for a 4th gen to ensure they are aware of the cubby issue. Currently the 3rd, 4th, and 5th gen system use the same 'Core' and we right-size the wings to match each vehicle exactly.

Wow, great work. Would love to discuss a setup for my 60. I’ll be planning a trip out west next summer once I get my power train and suspension dialed in. Would you entertain an option of me picking up in Boulder?

Cheers, James

This is a good clean approach, congrats.

More photos? Can you confirm some dimensions? Drawer length? Platform height? ...I have a dog kennel to consider. Thanks!

EDIT: seeing the dimensions on the other models!

Thanks! That sounds great, I'm sure we can make something happen!

website listing is live

What’s the best way to discuss? Let me know so I. An contact you to get the ball rolling.

Cheers, James
The best bet is to either email us at info@airdowngearup.com or give us a call at 720-335-5991

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Love seeing a new option for this kind of kit!

Question: are you able to install a fridge slide on top of the platform? Thanks!
Absolutely! We have seen that with many of our customers. Because our sleeping platform is split left/right, you have several options for how to accommodate a full size fridge on top: No sleeper at all, remove the half sleeper on the fridge slide, fold the sleeper up in front of the fridge! This allows for a nice flat storage spot on top of the 2nd row in front of the fridge.

Have you considered adding legs off the sleeper platform using locking hinges?
Example: https://a.co/d/7zjgycI

I may just not be seeing how the load is transferred from the pictures but as a heavier dude a fixed support would give me some better peace of mind.

The sleeper on the 60 series is our patent pending slide-out design. No hinges. It uses a pair of 600 lb slides and plates to secure the sleeper.

We're all about elegant and efficient design. All the peace of mind you need is built right into the core system. :)

Do you have a picture on your site? trying to picture this in my head if this is the way i want my set up.
I saw what it looks from the bottom, do you have a shot from the top?

You can see most the design here. Slides, sloped to provide a totally flat plane when deployed. Plates to support the vehicle rear end are integrated into the framework with a significant lever back against the core platform. We have proprietary (and patent pending) components that lock the sleeper in place when deployed AND retain the sleeper rattle-free in the stowed position, all tool-free.

You can drive (and wheel hard) with the system fully deployed or retracted.

It took us a few hundred units to get it all dialed in, but at this point it's a pretty sweet mechanism - so says my incredibly biased opinion. :D

Thanks for the detailed reply, do you guys have a video on the 60? I saw a few of your other videos which i think was awesome for the most part. You need a clip on Mic. ;)

We have a video with clips all stitched together coming for the 60. And yes, we desperately need better audio. This 60 video might actually solve that. Stay tuned!

As a heads up, I spoke with Andy at ADGU today and he was super helpful. There is a current two month leadtime, so be aware of that. Seems like a really strong product that was very well thought out and engineered. I will likely proceed at some point soon.

I should have posted some time ago, but things have been really busy! I purchased a set for my 60 about 1.5 years ago and I just want to second what @Idaho Savage mentioned - Andy is very responsive, helpful, and knowledgeable. I had a lot of questions and he was great about answering anything that came up. I've used the system a bit and will say that the drawers and sleeper system are extremely capable and durable.

I've been pretty happy - my only issue with it has really been the sleeper platform component and largely because I run a fridge in the back - the sleeper platform doesn't fold on itself, and so if you run a fridge in the back or have something else which is bulky, you may run into a fitment issue trying to store the sleeper platform when not in use (when you need the 2nd row up for kids or others). My fridge is large enough that the sleeper platform doesn't fit on the side next to the fridge and oddly sized enough to not lay vertical (and it will block rear cargo window which is no good). Having some type of piano hinge mechanism to fold on itself would be great, but there are a few support systems on the sleeper which Andy and his team have created for it which doesn't make this necessarily a quick fix but is doable. Having a sleeper platform option that folds on itself and doesn't compromise the support would be a great option (and maybe they have something in the works for this). Andy and his team may have fixed these other issues too as this seems to be a newer design specific for the 60 series and the one I got (I think) was likely a modified version from the 200 series as he mentions above. For example, my current sleeper arms don't lock into place if sleeper platform is off (I tie them down if platform is off and seat is down so they don't go in/out), and my drawer system goes right to the end of the 2nd row seat such that the metal middle support digs into the carpet a little on the back of the seat as do the two slides when the 2nd row seat is up (see pictures below). I have new carpet back there which is thick and I don't think it will cut into it (but may over time camping, wheeling, going in/out, etc) and I may but some other protective cover on them when seat is up. Again, these may be non issues now with the more specific design (and Andy, if there is a way to retrofit something from new design to keep the hinges in place for when my sleeper platform is off, that would awesome!).

I also have the cutting board and the metal supports on the side/under just hits one of the side bolts on the outside causing some issues. I will likely machine the cutting board support slightly to be able to slide in/out without issue (again see pic below).

Otherwise this is a very solid system, and again, Andy and his team have been terrific, so if you are interested in a drawer system this is a great option for sure and highly recommend speaking with Andy/ADGU. If I were to do it again, I would definitely go down there to have them install it lol - they likely have it down to an art form by now. As a heads up - if you don't have the factory cargo hooks already in your 60 (I can't recall which years have it and which don't as there seems to be a lot of variations - need to just go and check to verify), then you may be doing some drilling around your fuel tank area (tank doesn't need to come off) - mine didn't have the pre-existing factory cargo hooks.
