I've read all the posts about this but not having any luck.

I've replaced the airbag control module twice from other vehicles, I've sent them out to get reprogrammed but the places that do the reprogramming are saying that it's got a bad chip.

The airbag control modules were pulled from Vehicles just being parted out and had not been wrecked.

After I reset the airbag light, it stays off for a few hours, then it will come back on.

Any suggestions / ideas?

I am not really getting it...why not diagnose the issue behind the code?

There are tests to go through in the FSM for code 14, and none of it involves replacing the airbag ECM.

It is not uncommon to damage the spiral cable if one pulls the steering wheel and then doesn't put it back exactly. There is a procedure in the FSM, with a stern warning, on pulling and replacing the steering wheel.

Lot of the same write-up about chasing wires ,but nobody ever seems to have any pics, or wire testing locations, that would be priceless.

The horn works the cruise control works, so if you're referring to the clock spring that shouldn't be an issue.
But who's to say it's 30 years old

All that information is in the FSM and EWD. Download free-fer-nothin in the resources section.
