We have the OEM AC units available here in Pakistan pretty easy.. I even have a TLC A/C unit installed in my Jeep Cherokee.. :).. Most here are 24 volt though..

Bad Pictures but you can make out the A/C Unit and the controller. These installed in my 79 Cherokee. We here use these units even in old Jeeps..

Hey, Ehsan... what type refrigerant do you use in Paki ??

My recommendation and Vintage Air experience

I put in Vintage Air 1 1/2 years ago. I agreed totally with the advice about a separate AC switch. Here is South Louisiana, it is more important to cool than heat...in this respect, the Vintage Air kicks butt. Mine cools my truck on the hottest summer days (well over 100 degrees and HIGH humidity at same time)...

BEST ADVICE: Put tons of DynaMat extreme on Firewall inside the cab first thing (I did my entire firewall inside the vehicle, and the inside of my doors as well!!! I makes a HUGE difference.

I'd agree after seeing your setup. It's very nice.

I'd like to "hide" most of what's possible and still have some A/C. I'd be willing to cut the dash if I had to just to get a bit of room on the floor.

Here is a few pics from Waggoner5's build (which is freakin incredible by the way) from an 80 morphed into a 45. Link

Here is some of his pics of the dash. Now mind you he had an 80 stock A/C.

You could easily do something like that. And you'd have lots of leg room with any system that keeps the fan/blower/etc outside the cab. The thing that I like most about Vintage is that you don't have to drill anything. It looks like factory, performs better, and requires no drilling. Also, you have the option of purchasing extra years on your warranty. The blower fan and AC blows way colder than the factory unit. You have more engine compartment room, but less leg room. Hardly no drilling/cutting at all. IN fact, you have to keep all of your factory blower/fan and heater bolts.

Butch,
Looks like there are several vintage air dealers in the area.

or there is old air company. http://www.oldairproducts.com/ is located in Fort Worth so they might be worth calling.

Post up what you come up with...looks like a lot of interest now that global warming is in the news.
