I have some polk dbs 6500's (6.5" speakers) that im trying to install. Few things are off:
1. The bolt pattern doesn't match the stock speakers, so I read that you can make spacer (1/2" MDF) and bolt you new pattern to that.
With a spacer, does that stay behind the door panel (the interior upholstered thing) or do you enlarge the exisiting square speaker hole so that spacer goes through that hole and then mount your speaker and then your grill.
If the spacer stay's behind the door panel doesn't bulge out the panel?
If it's coming through the door panel are you guys painting it to match?
