incorrect, Zero trimming needed on 305/50 R20's, i had NO rubbing until i added spacers.

So the wheel well on the LC and LX are exactly the same as well as suspension height given AHC v. regular coils/shocks?

correct, the 50's are fine, however 55's (depending on manufacture) "might" rub a slight bit only. worth noting that all is based on using stock 20" wheels which are only 8.5"wide.

I would love to see pics as we'll...

I have three set of wheels, the stockers with 275-65-18 LTX MS2s, 2014 LX 570 wheels with Michelin LAtitudes 305-50-20s, and Black BBS wheels off of a Tundra, that I've swapped the 305s to for change this summer .

The only combo that rubs is the BBS with the 305s and it was so slight, 5 minute fix.

I'm actually getting rid of the 305-50-20 michelins and the 20x8.5 BBS wheels, I have not posted them in classifieds yet.

I'm probably going back to 18s.
Pic one is with Bilsteins set to highest setting (I have these available) and the other two are with Koni Raids whcih are stock height. Pic two shows the TRD centercap stickers I found.

that looks really good!!!

Well, I got the crap Dunlop grantreks. The other oem tire for the lx is the Michelin lattitude and not the M/S2. Thus past snow storm left me wanting a better tire. I'm pretty sure I don't want to go with a 305 tire.

I've narrowed it down to the M/S2 for the stock 20 inch wheels. The come in 275/60/20

xrayos, did you get the M/S2's? I'm in the same situation now with a '13 LX on stock 20's with the Dunlops. I don't want a dedicated snow tire/wheel set, so I'm trying to find the best year round daily driver compromise that I can take up to Tahoe for skiing, or for gravel roads when camping.

I was looking at the 275/55-20, for the Michelin LTX M/S2's, as a closer size to the stock 285/50-20.

How did the swap work out for you?

I run the ms2 275-65-20s on 2014 LX wheels in my Land Cruiser. They rub just slightly at full lock on the mud flaps. Not enough to bother me.
If it's going to bother you then go with the 275-55-20s. They be perfect.
The MS2s are fantastic a tires.

Thanks arich! Any experience with the M/S2's in snow and ice? I did put them on my GX last year and love them for dry and wet on pavement, but I didn't get a chance to try them in the snow. I've read (here and elsewhere) that the stock LX Dunlops are terrible in the snow, so I'm thinking to change them even before they're worn out, for family safety.

The tires are very good in the snow with the exception of deep snow.
That said, I'm setting up a winter tire setup with TRDs

So, if I went with the michelin ms/2 in 275/60/20 then I shouldn't have a problem? I like the 60 sidewall because it's a 114T load rating vs 111T for the 55. If you have 65 on there with slight rub, then 60 should work no problem. can anyone confirm?

thanks

I am running 285/50/20 Bridgestone Dueler Alenza Plus tires on my LX, had about same tires on my 10' LC only they lack the plus designation. I had the LX in the snow and ice here all week, and many times over in the past with my old LC.

I have been very impressed with them, they last about twice as long as the oe Michelins. They are slightly more aggressive looking then the super high performance OE tires, ride smoother, and handle better, with better traction as well IMO. They typically price out somewhere in the 250-275ea range.

So, I just upgraded from a 2005 4Runner V8 and am the proud owner of a 2013 LX570. The 20" wheels and tires are ok for a mall cruiser, but I do get a bit of snow during the winter. Would hate to be stuck on the highway during commutes. Any recommendations on a more versatile tire? I had Revos on my 4runner, but tires in the 20 range are limited.

The LX570 comes with 285/50 on 20" wheels. If I went a size up there's the BFG AT at 285/55/20. I'd hate to get a spare set of wheels to swap them every so often. Takes up way too much garage space.

Watched a video of a test drive of a new LX570 with the OEM Michelins 285/50/20 going over the highest pass in the Rocky Mountains in Colo. with no problems during a blizzard with others getting stuck and the LX was the last vehicle through before the highway dept. closed the road. I would say for on road travel you can't beat the OEM Michelins. jMHO

Hi All,
First post here. Just bought a 2016 LX570 and thinking about changing the 21 inch wheels to 20 inch from the 2015 lx570 model.
My question: Has anyone tried the ms2 275-60-20s setup and if so does it rub and would you recommend it vs the ms2 275-55-20s.
Thanks all for an amazing forum

Dump the big wheels and replace with big rubber. There really is no advantage to the big metal...

17" or 18", and 33" ATs will fit without a lift...ride better...and take you anywhere.
