Dump the big wheels and replace with big rubber. There really is no advantage to the big metal...

17" or 18", and 33" ATs will fit without a lift...ride better...and take you anywhere.

I'm not sure if the 17" wheels will fit the 2016s due to the bigger rotors. I would like to keep the highway capabilities as it is, just make it better overall mainly the in snow and the sand. That's why I would prefer the 20s over the 18s. With the 21s there are no options other than the current dunlops which have a threadwear of 360.

I guess if you don't focus on rough stuff its not a big deal, but if you ever need to air down in sand, there isn't much rubber to spread with 20's. A few months ago in rocky terrain...even a half-day in Moab meant a lot of rock hits to my wheels even with 33's on 17s" with lots of sidewall.

Last plug: I think you would be very pleasantly surprised by the street and highway handling of 17-18's.

Thanks. Will consider the 18s as well. Now its time to start searching for rims.

I am running the BFG AT KO2s on 18s. This is because I do take it off on fire roads and wanted a bit more sidewall between the rim and the rocks. Also, the price difference between a 18" rim and a 20" was HUGE!

With that said, the KO2s are very quiet and are as quiet as my Goodyears were on the 20s, plus they are snow rated and look a tad bit more aggressive than the previous set.

What is the spec for the KO2 tire that you are running? I just picked up some 18 inch land cruiser wheels and need to outfit with rubber. Tire rack selection for LC is limited with stock tire size. Thanks.

@chipsterguy - I am running LT285 65 18s. These fit with loads of room within the wheel well, and they don't upset your speedometer either. They also fit the spare location fine. I picked mine up at Discount Tire.

... they also look good out in the wild...:grinpimp:

Yeah I wanted to, but physics said no...:frown:

That's great info. Thank you!

I'm about to upgrade from 2006 LX470 to 2011 LX570 and wondered whether I could keep my LT285/65R-18 T/A KO2 tires. I really like them.

Cool so everyone is good with 33's.. ?? I'm keeping my stock 20" michelin set up and getting a 18" 285 65 18
BFG or Yokohama X-AT set.. or 275 70 18? a bit taller but better speed rating.. I couldn't quite get these 34's on here

Here are the 285/55/20 BFG/AT KO2’s on my 2015 LX570 after 20,000 miles no measurable wear only positive comments from me and people that see them comments “that’s what should’ve come on that kind of vehicle”. For some reason the tread on the 285 is 1 inch wider than the tread on the 275 on this particular tire and the 285 cost about $100 more per tire than the 275 size
