Trying to get some information about the AC dash button on the Heater/cooling controls. If anyone has that push button switch out, can you confirm if it reads 12v on it anywhere? I'm trying to figure out if the AC push button switch on the dash and plug of an FJ60 is 12v specific or if it could work in my 24v HJ60.
I need a AC dash switch for my soon to be installed AC system in my HJ60. I figured it would be easier to find one off a 12v fj60 if it turns out one could use it in both 12v or 24v systems.
I apologize if I am not explaining this correctly or using the proper terminology, I really know very little about the electrical stuff. Any electrical pros out there know if I could use a fj60 AC dash switch in my 24v 60? Or really any push button switch from the auto parts store that could engage the AC? Or am I doomed to searching outside the US for a 24v specific AC dash button and plug. Any advice from the electrical experts out there would be very appreciated!!
Here is what I am needing, #027:

A switch is a mechanical device and does not "care" what the voltage it is switching as long as it is rated for the voltage and current. The "12V" switch will be fine. It does have a 12V indicating light bulb in there that won't like the 24V. So you'd have to change the light bulb(s). Unless I'm missing something...

I was really hoping the replies would be simple solution answers like this. I did find this drawing, and you are correct, there is a small bulb in there. I could probably just remove the 12v bulb and run it without the indicator light?

yes, the switch will work fine with either 12v or 24v. The bulb would need to be changed or removed all together.

Yes. But an indication that the button is depressed is very helpful for AC. You could wire any switch. It doesn't have to be that little AC button.

You don't have to remove the bulb - a 12V bulb run on 24V will take care of itself pretty quickly. If you know someone a little crafty with electronics they could solder a dropping resistor to a Radio Shack LED to make it light but that's probably farther then you want to go. Or maybe Amazon or eBay has a replacement bulb rated for 24V that would work.

I *think* that switch may still be available from Toyota

Double check part with supplier: 84660-22021. May have been superseded to 88610-90A06

There's no mention in the EPC of 12v or 24v - which they usually specify.

84660-22021 is same part # for FJ60 - USA spec.

Thanks for the part number. I googled it and the results showed a used one for sale on cruiserparts.com. Air Conditioning Control Switch 81-90 [88610-90A07-U] - $10.00 : CruiserParts.net, Toyota Landcruiser Parts
Seems like with the $10.00 switch from them and tracking down a 24v bulb I could be all set!
Thanks a lot for all the info and suggestions, looks like a pretty simple (and inexpensive) fix to my problem.

I've got several extra A/C switches laying around - I can send you one gratis if you'd like to try one out.

That would be great! I will PM you right now.

What happened to the original?
There never was an original. My Hj60 doesn't have AC in it. We are installing it now and starting from scratch.

Detailed writeup and pics of AC install on HJ60 please. I have a HJ60 w/o AC too and looking to learn from you. Especially interested in seeing pics of the AC hose routings etc.
Thanks,
davaa

Well, it's happening right now. But should have plenty pictures when it's done. Here is how my AC hoses will route, and some other diagrams of parts I collected.
