Went up to the Blue Ridge Parkway yesterday to enjoy a late spring snowstorm........ I was at about 5200ft and there was 4"-6" on the ground. To say the least it was beautiful!!!

Cool pics, JP. Man, we just missed it here again by a county or two. This has been the most mild winter I can remember in a long time weather-wise. :crybaby:

House looks good and those water shots look like some good trout territory!!

my exact thougths, most of it is deep in a valley not accesible by road except for at the very top and bottom......... so it would be a great day trip starting at the top and hiking down. I imagine those waters don't get fished much because of their remoteness!!

Looks like an ideal mountain getaway. Congrats to Steve for his good taste.....JP must have been a mistake!!

What streams / rivers are they??

You win that e-bay bid?

I'll take that as a compliment Alan :grinpimp:, the sad thing is I was a "mistake"......

it is the west fork pigeon river....... it starts at the crest of the the parkway (highway 215) and runs down into Lake Logan; I think it'd be a great two day fishing/ hiking trip....

I can't remeber the trips but my parents used to take trips to Maggie Valley when I was a young kid....I can't remeber but I will have to say that was a good time for mom & dad-they were married then & by the pictures happy. Thanks for bringing back a great memory of times lost.:)

yep saw that this morning......... that is awesome, it would have been a killer poweder day!!! to bad beech was closed :crybaby:

glad to see you are checking out rays weather, he is the best for the mountains

It would have been a killer powder day by NC standards. Too bad almost every slope was closed...

Checking the forecast, need to know if the H2O is going to warm up any this weekend.

It would be ideal to have the H2O temps rise a few degrees. Get those sluggish trout to move a little, get some blood flowing and get HONGRY!!! :grinpimp:

Can you fellers imagine waking up on the bald with that kinda snow on the ground?!!! Awesome.
