FAQ - Guide - Converting A440F automatic to H55F manual
My HZJ77 left me stranded a few months ago. The A440F automatic transmission blew up internally with zero line pressure. I always felt that the automatic transmission robbed a lot of power. I mean, the thing is absolutely massive: Instead of rebuilding the automatic unit, I decided to...

I'll just leave this here for reference...and I'm sure you've already read it, from you post above.
If you want to H150 swap it, @mudandrock has one for sale. You'd need a manual transmission crossmember, a couple of frame mounts, and a floor plate and shifter boot. Lemme spitball here:
VDJ79 crossmember: 51202-60270
H15x transmission mount: 12371-17020 (I think, check me before buying)
frame to crossmember mounts: 51322-60090 (same for R and L)
shifter floor plate: 58013-60071
shifter boot 58280-60150
I'd grab a new clutch pedal assembly from Cruiserparts - they are selling new take offs for $82.50. If you do that, the clutch master is inside the firewall; you could add a remote reservoir on the firewall, or convert brake booster and/or master to the new style. Those part numbers are in my 79 single cab build thread. @rick_d confirms that the new style clutch, brake booster, and brake master will work on an old style brake pedal, as that's what he did when swapping the 1989 74 series I now own from RHD to LHD.
